Different Ways to Shop on Hyena Cart

You can think of Hyena Cart as a collection of hundreds of individually owned stores. With so many stores, there are several tools available to help you find exactly what you're looking for:

Categories

Each Hyena Cart store is listed in one of the categories listed in the left-hand menu. Clicking on an individual category will take you to a page which lists all the stores in that category as well as how many items are available in each store. Using your mouse to hover over a store's name will bring up a window showing a sampling of the store's items.

Stocking Calendar

The stocking calendar shows a list of stores which are offering new items on which days. There are three levels to the calendar: daily, weekly, and monthly. The weekly and monthly calendars show a simple list of store names, while the daily calendar gives more detail about the items of the day, including thumbnail pictures, titles, and pricing.

Random Spots

Spots are a way for you to share really great listings, as well as bookmark them for future reference. Each item listing has a "Spot this item" link which, when clicked, lists the item in the "Recent Spots" list and also saves the listing on your "My HC" page (you must be registered and logged in to Spot items). Items with the most spots are also featured in the "Most spots this week" list on the calendar page. The Random Spots link will take you to a page with a random sampling of items spotted by other HC users. This is a great way to browse through some of the most unique and beautiful Hyena Cart items.

Search

The search page allows you to search through every HC store's listings by title, tag, or the entire description. Suggested tags are listed on the advanced search page, but any words can be typed into the search field.

Hyena menu (found on daily and weekly calendar pages)

The Hyena menu (left-hand menu on daily and weekly calendar pages) shows some fun HC statistics:

• Most spots this week
  lists the items which have been spotted most in the past week along with the number of customers who have spotted the items
• Recent spots
  lists the most recently spotted items
• Where are the hyenas?
  lists the stores with the most traffic along with the number of customers browsing each store
• What are the hyenas talking about?
  lists the most recent conversations in the HC Forums

HC Forums

The Hyena Cart forums are an outgrowth of the irrepressible enthusiasm HC customers have for all things handmade, earth-friendly and geared towards natural parenting. A lot of topics focus around great things to buy at HC, but there are also plenty of conversations around crafting, parenting, natural living as well as a Marketplace forum for HC sellers to advertise their wares, and an HC Store where forum posters can spend their virtual HC$ on real handmade goodness. Currently, the HC Forums require a separate registration and login from the HC main site. Hopefully, this will be consolidated in the future.
