I am Cristi, momma to 4 kiddos, 2 are special needs so I have 3 kids in diapers including my 4.5 year old son. I have been crocheting since I was very young, at in an attempt to lower the cost of diapering 3 kiddos I created my own pattern for Longies, Shorties and now skirties! Our pattern features short rows in the butt for a nice "bubble diaper butt" fit to avoid being so tight across the back, which will avoid leaks. I can do an iCord draw string, I can do a nice stretchy chain drawstring, I can do a drawstring with little flowers at the end. I can also add pockets, flaired cuffs, ruffles, I have not done butt ruffles yet, but could. I can leave the longies the same width the whole way down to create more of a wide leg jean feel, or I can reduce to make a better fit, that's personal preference.
