My journey to a simpler lifestyle really began when I found out in February 2005 that I was pregnant. Knowing I wanted a natural birth, I began researching my options, and had my son at home that October. I also noticed that my husband was getting sick a lot and started researching nutrition and our immune system. Since then we have begun a lifestyle change, trying to eat whole foods and I have begun getting rid of the chemicals in our home. I believe my family is healthier as a result.

I started One Big Happy in 2006 because I wanted to provide the baby carriers that I have enjoyed to regular families. The benefits and conveniences of babywearing should not be limited to those who can afford expensive carriers. The bath products came on accident. I was at the library and stumbled across, quite accidentally, a book about natural beauty at home. From that moment I was hooked. I love searching for new recipes, and cooking up different concoctions in my kitchen.

We started cloth diapering my son when he was a few months old using a very popular cloth diapering system. In the fall of 2007 I decided to try using wool so I started knitting some soakers and have really fallen in love with the whole process. I bought a handful of fitted diapers and decided to try my hand at making some. And thus the diapering part of my business was born. My daughter born in January of 2008 has been wrapped in clothy and wooly love almost her entire life, and I feel good about it. I am proud to share the same low-cost love with my customers.
