General Policies:

I reserve the right to refuse any order based on negative feedback of the buyer. I also reserve the right to cancel an order in the event of a typo or accidental error in price. In the rare event that an item oversells, I will make the additional buyer the same item, if possible, or refund the additional buyer’s payment while accepting payment from the first buyer.

Payment:

All in-stock items will ship within 3 business days from cleared payment. I expect to receive payment within 3 days of the purchase or end of an auction or lottery. If you do not pay within 3 days, I will relist the item for sale and report the transaction for non-payment. If you are purchasing more than one item, please “purchase” your items but do not pay for them. Please email me with the Pay Pal address you use and I will send you a combined invoice. I accept Pay Pal and USA money orders. If purchasing by money order, please contact me for the payment address. I expect to receive payment by money order within 10 days of purchase.

Shipping:

I offer a variety of shipping options. However, if you would prefer a different shipping option, please contact me to discuss. Shipping costs are an estimate as the price varies based on location of the buyer. I will refund through Pay Pal any overcharge of shipping in excess of $1 US on any purchase, within the USA or international.

I purchase delivery confirmation on all purchases within the USA. Insurance is optional, but highly recommended, and available for you to purchase upon checkout. I am not responsible for items lost in the mail or damaged upon delivery. Please consider purchasing insurance on your items to protect you from loss.

Please double-check your Pay Pal shipping address. I only ship to the Pay Pal address listed with your payment. If you want the package to go to a different address, you need to add that address to your Pay Pal account and select it when paying. If your package is returned as undeliverable because of the address, you will need to pay for re-shipping charges.

Generally, I will ship internationally via First Class International Mail. I can generally ship orders to Canada for almost the same price as shipping within the USA. So, Canadian buyers can select the First Class Mail/Parcel Post option if they wish. If you are an international buyer other than Canada, please pick the “International” shipping option. Shipping internationally using First Class Mail represents more risk for me as a seller. I reserve the right to not offer First Class International Mail as a shipping option based on feedback of the buyer or the dollar amount of the transaction.

Returns:

All work is handmade and there will be slight variations between items along with the potential for a missed stitch or two that will not affect function. If I have made a mistake, please notify me and I will gladly fix it and pay return shipping. I want you to be happy with your purchase!

I want you to be satisfied with your order. If the item is not what you envisioned, or it just doesn't fit right, or you decide you don’t want it, you can return the item to me, using a shipping method that includes delivery confirmation, in its original, unwashed and unused condition for a full refund less original shipping costs. You must Send notify me of your intent to return the item within seven days of receipt of the item. My email address is joyfulbaby@icehouse.net. You are responsible for return shipping costs, unless the reason for the return is a flaw or error on my part.

Privacy Policy:

Under no conditions do I exchange, sell, or otherwise give away any of your personal information including, but not limited to name, email address, Pay Pal information, etc. I do have an optional newsletter that you can sign up for to receive updates on my store and green living tips.

Cloth Diaper Care Instructions:

Please wash and dry your diaper on medium or high heat before using it. The heat of the dryer will seal the needle holes in the PUL from the sewing process. After the first wash you can choose to continue to dry your diaper in the dryer or line dry. When washing, do not use fabric softener including dryer sheets and detergents containing fabric softeners. In addition, use 1/4 - 1/2 the recommended amount of detergent and I find it best to avoid using detergents that contain enzymes, and optical brighteners.

A great informational resource about washing your cloth diapers and detergent choices can be found at Pinstripes and Polkadots.

Please understand that many materials such as hemp and bamboo take multiple washings to reach their maximum absorbency. I wash and dry all of my natural fiber fabrics twice on hot before cutting. Hemp and bamboo can take up to 10 washings to reach maximum absorbency. So, if your purchased diaper contains hemp or bamboo, please wash at least twice before using the first time. I do wash and dry all fabrics twice before constructing my diapers.

Wool Care Instructions:

Clean wool clothing using a mild detergent in lukewarm water (such as baby soap or wool wash - not Woolite though!). DO NOT use hot water! DO NOT ever use bleach. Bleach dissolves wool.

Completely cover the garment in water and soak for 30 minutes or more if needed to remove soiling. Gently squeeze to allow water to penetrate the fabric. DO NOT wring the clothing. Rinse thoroughly with cool water to remove all traces of soap. Gently squeeze to remove excess water. DO NOT WRING the clothing.

To dry, lay the garment on a flat surface, reshaping if necessary and allow to dry away from direct sunlight and heat. DO NOT HANG TO DRY. This will cause the wool fabric to stretch from the weight of the water that has soaked into the fibers. NEVER PUT WOOL CLOTHING IN THE DRYER! The combination of heat, friction and pressure will cause shrinkage to the clothing called felting and the clothing will no longer fit. If you have any wool care questions following the purchase, please contact me!
