Sizing:

All styles of trainers have the same sizing although cotton knit and wool trainers tend to run a tiny bit smaller than waterproof trainers. If you have any sizing questions do not hesitate to email me appledumplingtrainers@yahoo.com .

In order to pick the correct size for your little one find their waist, thigh, and rise measurements, all measurements are taken naked.

Thigh measurement: Measure all the way around the thigh on the diagonal where a brief-type underwear might lie.

Waist measurement: Measure all the way around, under the belly in the crease.

Rise Measurement: Measure from the crease through the crotch all the way to the back, opposite the belly button. All styles of trainers are designed to go under the belly. The rise is shorter then on regular diapers.

Washing:

Non-wool items:

After ensuring a good fit, wash items on warm or hot with very little detergent and dry for 60 minutes on hot. Although materials have been pre-washed, maximum absorbency may be reached after a few washings. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets.

After an item has been used, place it in a diaper pail with a loose lid. Items that have been peed on can be washed on warm with very little detergent (1/4 to ½ the amount suggested on the container), with an extra rinse to remove any extra detergent and dried on hot for at least 60 minutes to sanitize. Items that have been soiled can be soaked in the toilet and then shaken to remove anything left hanging on. Use an extra cold-water rinse with up to a ½ cup of vinegar to help with staining before doing a warm-water wash, with very little detergent and at least 60 minutes of drying on hot to sanitize. Other clothes can be added to the wash if the items have been peed on or if the cold-water rinse has already taken place.

Wool items:

All wool items must be hand washed with wool wash in warm (not hot) water and laid flat to dry. All items will arrive washed and lanolized and ready to be worn. After an item has been peed on, separate the absorbent layer from the wool and hang the wool item until it has dried. After about two weeks of use or when the wool item begins to smell, wash and re-lanolize the wool item using a wool wash and lanolin. Here are some detailed instructions:

Washing and Lanolizing Wool

Place the absorbent layer in the diaper pail and wash as indicated for non-wool items. If the wool item has been soiled, wash out the stain using a wool wash or a wool wash bar. Depending on the size of the stain you may decide to wash and re-lanolize the whole item or simply hang it to dry until the small washed spot dries.
