Hi! I am Tina, wahm behind Heartland Dreams. I've been married to my sweet dh for 1 years, and we have 4 beautiful dc from 16 years old down to 3 years. We live on a farm in the Heartland of the USA, which was a dream of ours from the very beginning (thus the name). We were blessed to be able to make our dream a reality about 6 years ago. We raise grass-fed cattle with no chemicals or antibiotics for sale to the public, as well as raise chickens and a huge garden for our own benefit. We homeschool our dc (and I simply refuse to believe that I am old enough to have a high-schooler!). I cloth diapered my older dc in the days before PUL with prefolds, pins and plastic pants. My how times have changed! With my youngest, I bought a sampler pack of the 'fancy' new diapers for when she was tiny, and then started sewing my own. I discovered I loved it! And the pattern I'd drafted for her got tested on lots of other babies and their mamas loved them too. So a business was born. The dc saw how much fun I was having, and decided to get in on the act (and were very glad I had chosen a fairly generic name that they could sell under as well). They operate under nick names online, because we tend to be a bit paranoid about internet security and all that. Gimly is a 16yo boy who loves woodworking and is quite accomplished with a scroll saw. He also loves fishing and hunting and would rather do that than do just about anything else. Like most 16yo boys, he would love to be able to buy his first car, er truck. Chewy is a 14 yo boy who also loves woodworking, also using the scroll saw, but branching out into woodburning and carving as well. He loves to be out in nature. This boy is a saver, he has no burning desires to spend money on, and is content to save for another day. Flutterby is a 12yo girl who is amazingly talented with a sewing machine and a crochet hook. She also loves to write, and has written several "choose your own adventure" type stories for us to enjoy. She has recently purchased her own horse (which was HER dream for the past couple of years), so her business supports her love, Toby.
