It's National Reading Month! So curl up with a book and The Chain Gang Congo!

A little about me… My name is Michelle and I live in rural VT with my husband and two rambunctious kids, Landon 5 and Maren 2.5. I started making jewelry as a hobby after a friend introduced me to the fascinating world of gemstones. I love learning about the metaphysical properties of stones and the different ways they are used in healing and chakra work. And they are pretty, of course! When a relative suggested I sell my jewelry I balked at the idea at first, but then I realized it could be a great way to support and bring awareness to two organizations close to my heart, Mothers Without Borders and the Village2Village Project. Both organizations serve orphans and needy children in Africa, where AIDS/HIV have left millions of children without parents, living on the streets without shelter, food, and access to medical care. Through Village2Village we sponsor a young lady named Rose. She is a smart, sweet 16 year old in Uganda facing an unknown medical condition that causes her a great deal of pain. The folks at Village2Village took her under their wing and are getting her medical care to diagnose and treat her health issues, which is an expensive undertaking for a small nonprofit funded entirely by private donations. I am donating a portion of every sale to Village 2 Village, and will also be auctioning a few pieces throughout the month of November to raise funds specifically for Rose’s medical care. This is a great chance to get a head start on Christmas shopping while supporting a great cause as the same time! Please take a moment to check out Village 2 Village Project at www.village2villageproject.org. If you would like to contribute directly to V2V you can do so through Paypal, there is a link under “Donate” on the website. While you are online check out Mothers Without Borders as well at www.motherswithoutborders.org. To see how our Vermont chapter is serving the needy children here in our community check out Mothers Without Borders VT on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MWBVT. Thank you for your support! Happy shopping ☺
