Hi, I’m Sara Seevers, the seamstress behind Serendipity. I live in the heart of Ohio with my two children an my husband of nearly 12 years. We are expecting our third child in early 2008.

I grew up surrounded by sewing, knitting, and general crafting. My mother made much of my and my brother’s clothing as a way to make ends meet. And I have fond memories of spending days at craft fairs helping in her booth to raise money for the holidays.

My mother passed her knowledge and some of her talent to me. I’ve been sewing on and off my entire life and almost daily for the past 3 ½ years. My sewing has evolved from doll blankers as a child, to Halloween costumes in high school, to a work-study job in my college theatre’s costume shop, to sewing diapers and clothing for my children.

In the last year or so I have been able to use the skills and techniques I have learned, combined with research and self-study on garment construction and fit, to make much of my own clothing. I have become so frustrated with ready-to-wear plus-sized clothing. So much of it is either poorly made, over-priced, ill-fitting or all three!

I am so excited to have this opportunity to sew for you. My goal is to bring you well-made items that are more than simply the right size - that actually fit a curvaceous woman’s body.

Thank you so much for visiting Serendipity at Full Bloom. I look forward to working with you. Please also visit the other shops to see a selection of wonderful items hand-crafted by an amazing group of women!

- Sara

I do not, as yet, have any feedback on Hyena Cart. I do, however, have a bit of feedback here and here.
