Care Instructions Here is a synopsis for washing cloth diapers: General tips:If your child develops a nasty red rash, then you probably have not thoroughly rinsed out your detergent. Look at the water during your final rinse and ensure that there are no soap bubbles. If there are, do another rinse until there are no more bubbles. Next wash, cut back on the amount of detergent you used
Here are a few websites that have a lot of good information on cloth diapering: The Diaper Jungle Green Mountain Diapers Diaper Pin Keep in mind that finding the right washing routine requires some playing around at first. You will, with out a doubt, know if the diaper has a bacteria funk smell. Also, if the diaper immediately smells like ammonia when first wet, the diaper is not getting washed thoroughly (there is still residual urine in it). Diapers that have been sitting or used overnight can smell like ammonia though - just not when first wet and not a knock-you-over upon entering the room smell.
