Warranty

All products come with a 30 day warranty against defective craftsmanship. All of our products are handmade with care and love and thus no two will be perfectly alike. Each item is put through a rigorous quality control review before being shipped to you, however mistakes can occur. Defective craftsmanship encompasses defective stitching (i.e. it comes undone), defective snaps (i.e. they won’t stay closed), and defective elastic. All other items will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Normal Wear and Tear/Non-manufacturing related damages: All diapering products have a limited lifespan and eventually will show wear and tear. Diapering  products are used to contain such acidic substances as urine and feces, and should be washed regularly to avoid *microbial action (diaper breakdown). There is no set amount of time that a diapering product can be expected to last. Many environmental facts come into play (hard water, water temperature, laundry detergent, laundry routine) etc. We do not warranty against degredation from prolonged storage (wet or dry) or wear from use including but not limited to holes, runs under snaps, snags on sidewalks or from pools, wood, cement, or washer/dryer problems.

Custom Order Process

Listed custom order purchases will be confirmed via email regarding any special instructions.  If you are interested in something you do not see on the website, please contact us to see what we can do to fulfill your order.

Please keep in mind that custom orders are final and non-refundable. There are no refunds or returns on custom or special orders.

Please note custom items are not in-stock.  They will be created just for you after purchasing the item and may take up to 4-weeks before it is ready to ship.

Should you decide to cancel a custom order, we will refund your purchase price as long as we have not begun work on your order less $1.00 to cover fees incurred by us.

Using Cloth Diapers & Trainers

  • Wash and dry diapers and trainers on hot prior to first use. There after it is recommended to wash used diaper products within 48 hours

  • It is normal to have some leaking with pocket diapers and trainers for the first couple of uses.  Wash and dry on hot until the leaks cease

  • Pull apart snapping diapers gently by holding the fabric close to the snap Yanking may damage the diaper

  • Zorb ll can take up to 7 wash and dry cycles to reach full absorbency

  • All pocket/AI2 diapers can be used as a swim diaper with the insert removed

Care Instructions

Here is a synopsis for washing cloth diapers:

  • Make sure all inserts have been removed from the pocket diapers & solids have been knocked off into the toilet

  • If applicable, make sure all hook and loop tabs have been securely fastened to the corresponding laundry tabs to avoid a diaper chain

  • Run the diapers through a cold rinse (HE: cold/cold wash) cycle and then spin to remove excess water

  • Use your normal amount of laundry detergent and wash diapers on a hot wash.   We have had great success with original Tide.

  • Optional-An extra rinse (either a cold rinse or hot wash w/o detergent added) can help get any extra residue or stink issues cleared up

  • Optional-Add up to 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar to the final rinse if your water is especially hard to help thoroughly rinse out any detergent

  • Dry on high heat for shortest time required or line dry in the sun.  Both help kill any bacteria that may be growing in the diapers.  A bonus for sun drying is the sun helps bleach out any stains.

General tips:

  • Do NOT use fabric softeners or dryer sheets as this will cause repelling and leaking

  • Do diaper laundry every 2 days or within 48 hours to avoid Diaper Breakdown by Microbial action

  • Don't do more than half of a machine full

  • Use the highest level water setting you have, despite the diapers only taking up 1/2 a load

  • If your child develops a nasty red rash, then you probably have not thoroughly rinsed out your detergent.  Look at the water during your final rinse and ensure that there are no soap bubbles.  If there are, do another rinse until there are no more bubbles.  Next wash, cut back on the amount of detergent you used

  • If your diapers are stinky, they are not clean.  They should have no residual odor.  Residual odor means there is likely a bacteria buildup and that can lead to diaper rash and other skin irritations.

Here are a few websites that have a lot of good information on cloth diapering:

The Diaper Jungle

Green Mountain Diapers

Diaper Pin

Keep in mind that finding the right washing routine requires some playing around at first.  You will, with out a doubt, know if the diaper has a bacteria funk smell.  Also, if the diaper immediately smells like ammonia when first wet, the diaper is not getting washed thoroughly (there is still residual urine in it).  Diapers that have been sitting or used overnight can smell like ammonia though - just not when first wet and not a knock-you-over upon entering the room smell.

*Diaper Breakdown by Microbial action

Cellulose-decomposing bacteria are present everywhere.  Damp soiled diapers show virtually no evidence of fiber breakdown for the first 48 hours.  After 72 hours (3 days) of incubation, cellulose digesting micro organisms can multiply from 1  hours million/gram to 10 billion per gram of material, at that point they generate a serious appetite and begin digesting cotton, bamboo and hemp.  At the end of day 4, studies on cotton show accelerated deterioration, around 9% decomposition after 4 days, and up to 50% decomposition by day 6.  What this means is leaving a diaper pail for one 4-day cycle decays a diaper about the same as leaving it for ten 3-day cycles.

These times may be shorter if storage temperatures exceed 24C/75F or spend time in a very warm place like a car or diaperbag left in the sun.  Hemp and bamboo will decompose slightly faster than cotton, but the rate is so close treat diapers as if they all decompose at the same rates.
