Care and Use of your Diapers
About MamaMade AI2s and Fitted Cloth Diapers
All-in-Two Diapers
After receiving some customer feedback, I've recently changed the design of the All-in-Two diapers. I have made some small, but significant changes in the body/shell of the diaper.
The area through the legs is now wider (almost 1" wider), which will even better accomodate the new super-soaker. I've also added a bit of width on the front tummy panel, and some additional width to the rise on the front.
The new soaker is heavy-duty. It features a combination of hemp fleece (max absorbency) and bamboo fleece (quick absorbency) with a topper of OBV (quick absorbency). The soaker is in two petals making for a quicker drying time. The soaker will reach maximum absorbency in 8-10 washes. (Please do not boil the soaker as the snaps could melt).
As I sew these, I pierce holes in the hidden PUL layer, and
if used right out of the package, you may experience some wicking of moisture
on to the outer cotton layer.
I recommend doing an initial hot wash and hot dry to seal
the holes made by the sewing process.
This should ensure a leak-free diaper.
Since the outer print is cotton, you may experience some moisture wicking
onto the outside if the diaper is worn for an extended period of time.
(The soakers no longer have the double-sided snaps, but they can still fit into a MamaMade fitted diaper).

Fitted Diapers
MamaMade fitted diapers are made with hemp fleece core and soakers.
Hemp fleece is a very absorbent material that will achieve a maximum absorbency in 4-8
washes. To not waste too much water
prepping your diaper, I recommend using it for daytime the first 3 or 4 times,
and then it’ll be ready to use for nighttime.
The one-size fitted diapers include a newborn insert or
doubler. You can use the newborn insert
when the diaper is on the smallest rise and you don’t need too much
absorbency. Also, the doubler can be
snapped into the regular insert for maximum absorbency – great for overnight! The regular soaker/insert will be perfect for
daytime use or light wetters.
**************** MamaMade Recommend Wash Routine:
1)
Rinse on cold or warm with no soap (removes
solids)
2)
Wash full wash on hot with a cold rinse and 2.5
TBSP of Rockin’ Green detergent (or other cloth-diaper safe detergent (I have a top-loading machine)
3)
Extra cold rinse with no soap
4)
Dry on medium in dryer or hang to dry in the sun
(and then I air fluff the diapers if they’re a little stiff from
sun-drying). A good hot dry for any
diaper with PUL is good every once in a while.
Just remember to let your diapers cool completely before stretching the
elastic, as it can get easily damaged that way.
