Hi mamas! Sizing for fleece soakers, longies or skirties may be a little different than what you are used to. It's important to get the right size so your new fleece fits your little one just right.
Here are a few pointers:
Fleece has a bit of stretch but not as much as a knit or wool. If in doubt, or if your child is nearing the next size, it may be best to go ahead and size up.
If your child wears a small diaper, do not assume she wears a small soaker. I've heard of medium-wearing babies needing an extra large, a 4 month old needing a large, etc. Measuring is your key to success!
Measure your baby with a tape measure while he is wearing a diaper you intend to put the soaker over. If some of your diapers are fluffier than others, select the fluffiest one!
You will measure her waist, her thighs and her rise. The rise is the length from the back of the diaper, through the legs and up to the front.
Your baby may not fit exactly within the following measurements -- just choose the one that fits her biggest measurement.
For newborns -- order a small. We do not offer newborn sizes as the pattern is too itty bitty for even the smallest babies!
Mama Bird offers small to extra large. If your child measures outside the following measurements, feel free to contact me for a custom sizing!
