Caring for your new mama cloth:

1.  Wash/dry new mama cloth once or twice when you first receive them to take out the sizing in the material.  This should make them more absorbant.

2.  NEVER use bleach or fabric softeners on your mama cloth. 

3.  Rinse soiled pads in cold water then place them in a small soak bucket with cold water.  This helps to loosen any stains.  Be sure to change the water daily.

4.  When you are ready to wash your pads, simply place them by themselves or with cloth diapers in the washer.  Use 1/4 of the normal amount of detergent.  I add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil to every wash to help remove stains.  I also recommend that you do an extra rinse cycle to take out any remaining detergent.

5.  For drying your mama cloth, I recommend doing so in the sun.   Sunshine is a natural sanitizer!   It also has a bleaching effect.  You can tumble dry your mama cloth for 10-15 minutes to soften them up.
