Got fiber?     If you have fiber, or have fallen in love with some, but you don't spin or don't have time, let me help.  I have 30 years of spinning experience with a variety of wools and luxury fibers, and have spun professionally for much of that time.  I'm not afraid of slippery fibers like silk, angora or milk latte, and I love spinning yarn from unusual souces of fiber, such as the fluffy undercoat from your family dog.   I have several wheels, each with distinct personalities making them perfect for specific types of yarn.  My "plying wheel" has a very large bobbin so if you have a larger quantity of fiber I can provide you with larger skeins (resulting in fewer joins/knots in your project). 

The price of this listing is your non-refundable deposit.  Total cost will be based on the type of yarn you choose and the total weight of the fiber.   In general my prices for custom spinning are thus:

single ply worsted or bulky (can include thick and thin) - $5 per oz
2 ply worsted or bulky - $6 per oz
2 ply sport or dk - $8 per oz
2 ply fingering/sock - $10 per oz

If the fibers you are providing are very short (and not in roving or batt form) such as some dog or long haired cat furs, the addition of a stabilizing fiber may be required.  You can supply this fiber or i can supply it at an additional charge.  Suggestions would be soft wool or alpaca, silk, bamboo, or others that we can discuss.

If your fiber is not already in roving or batt form, and I have to card or comb it, additional charges will apply.  During this processing I can add additional fibers such as angelina sparkle, bamboo, milk fiber, etc. for an additional charge.

My turn around time for most spinning is pretty quick.  Please allow 4 weeks from the time I receive your fiber, although in most cases I will deliver your yarn much more quickly with the exception of finer yarns, or if i have to order something specific to complete your order.  I will always keep you informed of any delays.  Orders are processed on a first in/first out schedule, so if you're in a hurry, please get your fiber to me promptly.  Spinning will not proceed until payment in full has been received, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Please keep in mind that the quality of the finished yarn is directly related to the quality of the fiber.  Short fibered neppy wool will result in lumpy bumpy yarn, while smooth fluffy roving will result in smooth, even yarn.   I'm good at what I do, but I can't work miracles. ;-)
