Why Thursdays?

We usually have 1 week October, Feb and May/June. Then 2-3wks December, 2 weeks over Easter and 6 weeks for the summer. And then 'inset' days, which are also called 'teacher training' days, but they're usually tagged on to holidays.

School is out this friday the 22nd and they go back usually right after labor day so begin of Sept.

there are several either region-wide or nation-wide religion based holidays in the spring after easter: ascension and several i had never heard of and dont know how to translate lol3 sometimes schools will do a bridge day to just make a 4 day weekend out of it!
