My daughter is really interested in making some items to sell for the holidays, and talking to a few WAHMs in HC chat got me thinking, someone suggested having a HC store set up just for kids to stock their items. Would there be enough interest from HC kids to get this going? Please reply if your child is interested and willing to participate.

Also have a poll going, what would be the best way to go; get a HC cart set up just for them, have them stock at an exisiting congo or store, or have the kids stock at their WAHPs HC store. LMK your thoughts so we can get this in the works!

I said a HC just for them only because I think it'd be awesome to have be store/Congo where only kids sold items.

That said my 9 year old would love to sell some sewn goods. Wipes, pillowcases and the like. She cuts, serges and is working on the sewing part still. So having her make simple mainly serges items would be best for selling. Oh and she does tie dye clothes (as does my 5 year old).

Super fun! Both Aubrey 8 and Micah 6 have been designing earrings for awhile now and Aubrey likes to make bracelets and necklaces too. I actually put the clasps on or the earrings on the wires for them because they don't have the dexterity but they totally design and put together their design themselves and are so proud!

I think a congo of their own is a great idea, however I think it needs to be open for people to come and go. I know for one that my kids might be more than happy to do a stocking, but would probably then lose interest in doing more than the one iyswim. So if you could have a set fee for stocking per family per month for example, then kids could stock as they please.

Voted for a kids only congo too. I think it would be fabulous to see everything they did all in one place.

This would be fun. I would love to get my son involved in my business again. He used to make things to sell at my craft shows. :D

DD LOVES to dye yarn with me, so I think this is an awesome idea.

I think we're going to make a french knitting "machine" so she can make necklaces and bracelets with her yarn, too. She loves when we do projects together (don't they all?).

Brennen might be interested. As you might recall, he has been selling his bath salts on HC for 5 years ish. He was talking about doing some special scents just for the holidays :D

This is great, there's lots of interest! If anyone wants to help me set it up LMK, I'm all for doing this!

I think that's a good idea Shadow, not all kids would like to stock every month, so an open congo for kids would be awesome.

DD wants to sew some pillowcases and bamboo velour scarves, she already picked a few prints for the pillowcases and she is so excited Smile .

The more the merrier I say!

Leah suggested we get a Facebook page going so that the parents of the kids and the kids themselves can post and share about what we'd like to accomplish with this congo. Here it is, go like, and start posting! Let's get this show on the road Smile .
