We will be adding summer tops to this swap, as well as rompers. If you wish to sign up as a Sender or Creator for tops, please make sure you indicate that and follow the instructions below regarding tops, as well. Some of the info is duplicative, but it still needs to be there as someone may want to sign up only for tops. Smile

Basic Info
If you have not previously participated in a swap like this, basically, the Sender sends yarn to the Creator to be worked up and also sends the same amount and value of yarn for the Creator’s “payment”. When the Creator is finished with the item, they send it to the Sender.

If you would like to sign up for this swap, but have been on these boards for less than 6 months and/or have less than 100 posts, please PM me the actual links (not just a note of who you are on the other boards…I need links to click!) to all your feedback, including other boards. PLEASE DO NOT sign up until I have seen and OK’d your feedback. If you sign up without being OK’d, I will not remind you to send feedback and I will not include you in the list of participants until feedback is received and OK’d. Please do not sign up if you are on the No Swap List (stickied thread at the top of this forum). If you feel you are on the list in error, please take it up with this forum's mod and if you are then removed from the list, have that mod PM me to let me know.

If you do not have any feedback anywhere, don't fret...just let me know that you are just starting out in the internet/forum world. I'm just trying to do my best to make sure all goes well with the swap and this is a good way to do so. Wink

Once you have signed up, please remember to check this thread at least every other day as there may be info you will need to know and of which you need to be apprised, such as the possibility of sign-ups closing early and/or changes to other dates. If you know that you will be gone for an extended length of time, such as a week-long trip, around the time that sign-ups will close and matches will be made, please let me know so that if someone cannot get in touch with you, it will be known why (and not look as though you are just ignoring them).

Rules:
1) Sender’s yarn to be worked up and payment yarn(s) MUST be of equal quality and value. Don't send yarn you wouldn't be happy to receive.
2) Please, listen to your Creator's preferences for payment and work-up yarn. For example, if they do not wish to receive Peace Fleece, please don’t send them Peace Fleece.
3) Ensure that your Creator knows the yarn origins of their payment yarn at least - what type of fiber, name of colorway, dyer, yardage.
4) Ship in a timely manner.
5) If you have unresolved transactions, I reserve the right to pull you from the swap. This includes other boards.
6) COMMUNICATE with your partner(s). Keep them updated, especially if there are any problems/delays that will affect shipping times. Everybody appreciates a little communication.
7) If you are in the USA, DC is strictly REQUIRED. Keep your receipts until you know the other person has your package.
8) Each party is responsible for their own basic shipping charges…Sender will pay to ship yarn, Creator will pay to ship finished project. If the Sender wishes to have insurance on the project when it is sent back, it is their responsibility to provide such fees to the Creator.
9) Return of any leftover yarn will be worked out between Sender and Creator.

Time schedule:
Sign ups: Until 1/17.
Matches: ~1/20
Send yarn: 2/3.
Send items: 3/17.
Please understand that tops can take longer to make, so please give those who are making tops another week or two to complete the project.

Shorties/Rompers
Creators, please include the following in your post:
1) Whether you will knit, crochet, or both. Please also indicate if you do linen stitch and/or Tunisian crochet.
2) How many pair of shorties and/or rompers re you willing/able to do.
3) What sizes are you willing to do - please indicate measurements as it seems everyone's sizing is different (basic).
4) What types of yarn you'd like as payment.
5) What, if any, types of yarn with which you will not work.
6) Colors you like.
7) Colors you don't like.
8) Would you accept sock or other yarn with the same value as payment.
9) Classify your knitting experience: Beginner, moderate, experienced.

Senders, please include the following in your post:
1) Whether you want knit, crochet or have no preference. Please also indicate if you specifically wish to have linen stitch or Tunisian crochet.
2) What size(s) you'd need - please include basic measurements.
3) How many pair of shorties and/or rompers you'd like to get.
4) Are you willing to be paired with a new knitter or do you prefer someone more experienced.

Tops
Creators, please include the following in your post:
1) Any patterns you already have (this will not eliminate you from making other tops...the Sender will simply supply you with a pattern you may not already have).
2) How many tops you are willing/able to do.
3) What sizes you are willing to do.

1) The style or possibly exact top you wish to have made. It will be your responsibility to provide the pattern to your partner if they do not already have it.
2) What size(s) you'd need.
3) How many tops you'd like to get.
4) Are you willing to be paired with a new knitter or do you prefer someone more experienced.

If you are hoping/planning to do both, PLEASE include all information for both a Creator and Sender.

There is no limit as to how many swaps you can do, provided everyone gets at least one. If the Creators are filled with the number of swaps they indicated and there are still swaps available from Senders, you are more than welcome to do side swaps on your own as I will not overburden the Creators.

When sending the form noted below, please do not make requests/notes such as “to be paired with someone who only wants boy/girl colorways,” or “someone who is OK with getting X type of yarn.” I don’t have time to go through the list of posts to see who wants what type of yarn or what gender of colorway, etc. This is why these questions are asked and filled in by the participants. Please be specific when you answer the questions on the form you email to me. For example, request not to be paired with A, B, and C participants (they want boyish colorways and I only have girly colorways), or request to be paired with D and E participants (they are the only ones who state they want girly colorways and that’s all I have for payment).

If you are not going to go through with this swap, i.e. keep the person’s yarn and not send their items, or not send the yarn to the Creator, then do not sign up. Failure to follow through on either end WILL result in negative feedback from myself AND your partner. If necessary, it would be better to drop out of the swap after signing up and before matches are made.

Once you have signed up, please e-mail the following information to munchkinwear@gmail.com, with the subject title "Shorties Swap - Shorties" or "Shorties Swap - Tops" (if you're signing up for both, put both in the subject title and send once), by 1/18:

When you sign up, please make the first thing you indicate whether you are a Creator or Sender, and if you put it in bold, that will help a lot.

Also, when you email me your forms, please also do the same before answering any questions.

This way, it is much, much easier for everyone to see what you are signing up for and I don't have to read through the post and/or email to see what you are signing up to do. Wink

SENDER
1) Knit - linen stitch would be lovely for shorties

2) newborn/small - use standard pattern measurements - as I have no baby to measure yet Smile

3) 3 total items MAX
I'd love 2 shorties of newborn/small (maybe one of each or both slightly in between?) and maybe 1 summery top if I could add it on when we know gender (my ultrasound is 2/23. I know it's late for the date of this swap, so if it isn't possible that's ok, I can save a top for the next one!). If there aren't enough creators to senders though, one pair is just fine.

4) Are you willing to be paired with a new knitter or do you prefer someone more experienced.
I don't mind a new-ish knitter, but would prefer that they have done their intended pattern at least 3 times before knitting for me.

Creators,
Shorties/Rompers
1) Whether you will knit, crochet, or both. Please also indicate if you do linen stitch and/or Tunisian crochet. Knit
**also, I have the Belle Romper and the Reid's Romper that I can work from. For shorties, I have the SMSS Convertible Longies that can be made as bloomers, and I have my own Tiered Longies that can also stop at the bloomers mark. (Either one can have the legs added later knit on or buttoned on)
2) How many pair of shorties and/or rompers re you willing/able to do. 1 of either shorts, romper, or tops
3) What sizes are you willing to do - please indicate measurements as it seems everyone's sizing is different (basic). I can do any size up to 4T, but it will be according to pattern, so anything up to 22"hips/19"rise
4) What types of yarn you'd like as payment. BFL, Merino, merino blends Wool, or Wool/alpaca, LBY Nature's organic cotton or Hobby Lobby I LOVE This Cotton if you have it (but please make it fair since they are much cheaper), handspun is always a fav (I'd even take fiber if its an option Wink ) really don't care for MMR or cestari but if its HC, then its tradeable and fine as payment. I will also accept HC scraps as payment
**IF you want shorts/capris/romper in cotton, I would be happy to do that for you.
5) What, if any, types of yarn with which you will not work. peace fleece or mohair, prefer not cestari, but I'll do it lol. Skeins matching is much appreciated
6) Colors you like. ORANGE Turq, aqua, brown rainbows but I've never seen a colorway I don't like
7) Colors you don't like. pastels and neon, please no solid or semi solids
8) Would you accept sock or other yarn with the same value as payment. YES
9) Classify your knitting experience: Beginner, moderate, experienced. Mod/Exp, I can pretty much make and have made anything

Tops
1) Any patterns you already have (this will not eliminate you from making other tops...the Sender will simply supply you with a pattern you may not already have). I have Teacher's Pet, Charlotte Tunic/Dress
2) How many tops you are willing/able to do. 1 of either romper, shorts or top
3) What sizes you are willing to do. up to child size 10 /32" chest(some of the patterns that I have don't go that far, but I will do whatever pattern the sender needs)
4) What types of yarn you'd like as payment. wool, wool/alpaca blends, might like some Nature's Organic LBY Cotton or Hobby Lobby I LOVE This Cotton if you have it(but please make it fair since these are much cheaper), handspun is always a fav (and if fiber's an option, I'd take that Wink ) and I would accept HC scraps as payment.
5) What, if any, types of yarn with which you will not work. peace fleece or anything too fuzzy. Skeins matching is much preferred.
**If you want your top out of cotton I am happy to do that for you.
6) Colors you like. ORANGE, turq, aqua, purple, never seen a colorway i don't like
7) Colors you don't like. pastels, neon, please no solids or semi solid
8) Would you accept sock or other yarn with the same value as payment. YES
9) Classify your knitting experience: Beginner, moderate, experienced. Mod/Exp. I have and can pretty much knit anything

NOTES:
I know creators are top heavy, so saying that, I would like to offer my services for patterns I have/familiar with. They are just faster that way. SO, if there is a request for Reid's, Belle, Teacher's Pet, or the Charlotte Tunic/dress, then I would love to do one of those.

Or anything a person wants made in cotton I am happy to make, whereas some knitters find cotton slow and may prefer to not. So, I don't mind knitting and being paid in the cotton (payment needs to be LBY or HL mentioned above tho)

If its a bigger child, I'd love to knit any pattern the sender wants to send.

I can do shorties too of course. But, I was thinking if there is a different type, or larger type item, I can be your go to girl Wink[/b]
