If someone is newly pregnant, and has had the chicken pox previously, and they are exposed to pox, is there any risk to the baby? I have researched and found some conflicting information, just wondering if any might know. _________________ Melissa Mom with 11 kiddos. 4 who run on Earth, 7 who soar with the angels.

They should be fine if they have had cp previously. That's what we are told by midwives over here (no cp vax here). _________________ Shadow

My understanding is there is no risk to the baby, but talking with a doc never hurts. _________________ Organic Teethers & Waldorf Toys!

not sure about newly pregnant, but we had to research it since we were staying with my SIL while my girls had the pox. called OBs, peds, etc, and everyone said as long as SIL had already had the pox, she and baby would be fine. she was 34 weeks preg at the time. _________________ ~lisa

Nope.. you are not at risk.. I was going to take the kids to a pox party before they got roto instead but I looked in up in my study books, check with 3 other midwives and even an ob and ALL said if you have had it in the past.. you are fine _________________ Courtney Photographer/ Midwife apprentice, wife to mike, Adoptive Mama to Landan Lowell (6), IVF mama to River Jordan and Toccoa Garbriel (2.5) and our sweet Evangeline Annaliese is almost ONE!
