After 8 exposures, in 7 months.... we have CHICKEN POX! Thanks to a fellow hyena, who shared her sons pox with me a couple weeks ago, my daughter woke up with spots this morning.
My kids all had well checks today, so i called to tell them, and they said to still come in, so we did, and it is dr confirmed. POX! YAY! I am sooo excited. It is crazy hot outside, so no better time.
Still waiting for my 2 year old to show up with them, but I am not shocked emma showed up first, because she was the one playing with the little boy when they came over.
Is it crazy that i am stoked over this?? _________________ Melissa Mom with 11 kiddos. 4 who run on Earth, 7 who soar with the angels.

Question, is this the child that was having behavior issues??? I might be crazy but my kids have HUGE flare-ups behavior wise whenever we are exposed to strep...or even chicken pox. But whenever we go to the dr, no chicken pox just a regular old virus. As far as strep, they test positive for recently having it, but they never actually have strep. Crazy, right? _________________ Brittany~nursing student and SAHM to Cole 3/1/03 (autism), Jaden 8/31/04, Cameron 4/8/09, and Skyelar 11/8/11

no, though she is a handful most days. LOL
My daughter with OCD, aspergers and mood disorder NOS, had one pox vaccine and is not showing any signs of pox now. _________________ Melissa Mom with 11 kiddos. 4 who run on Earth, 7 who soar with the angels.

I wish you could share Melissa! I refuse to vaccinate my girls for varicella and it is fairly rare. Wish we could run to Arizona and play for an afternoon. =D _________________ Ellen

yes. it is hard to come by. I have shared with about 4 other people. Diesel just got them on Sunday, and he has been miserable and so sick with them. high fevers, no sleep, sooo itchy. But i think he is going to do better now. he didnt wake up with any new spots today. He had about 100 in just his diaper area, and another 100 on his face/head/neck. He was so itchy. But at least i know the case was strong enough for him to have immunity. _________________ Melissa Mom with 11 kiddos. 4 who run on Earth, 7 who soar with the angels.

| I don't/didn't vax for CP either. Then, last year, I was called by the school and told they had a case in her class. I was excited at first, thinking FINALLY! then they dropped the bomb. Yes, I have the right to sign the no vax waver, but they have the right to keep my child out of school to avoid the spread. I was told she would have to be out of school for 28 days if I didn't show proof of vaxination for her. I broke down and did it because that is a lot of school (I love her school by the way. It's a small private school). However I have not vax'd my three others and I wont unless I am forced. I keep hoping I run into somebody who has them. Can you send them to Cali? |

I know it is 6 months late, but congratulations.
I plan to do the same thing when my little ones are at a good age (I'm thinking 3 and almost 5 years old)
My son is fully vax'd (I have no choice, he lives with his Dad) and my girls have never been vax'd for anything. I remember having Chicken Pox when I was young, it wasn't a traumatizing event, and we even had a Pox party, friends and cousins came over to catch it too. I didn't realize that was what it was until recently when I considered doing the same thing for my girls. _________________ I am Shea, I am a SAHM, married to my best friend for 3 years , we , I , I love , our girls are: Amelia(09/12/09) and Annabelle(05/21/11) |
