It's a Boy!

The newest member of our family.

DH and I have been talking about getting a dog for a while (2 years), but we move so much that we wanted to make sure we were in a good place to get one. Then came the subject of puppy or going to the humane society. I grew up with Labs, I love them and I really really wanted a lab. We set out to find a breeder and found one in Maine (my home state).

This is 'Admiral Thatcher' (who is a Civil War Admiral from Maine who was knighted by King Kamehameha of Hawaii, etc.) a.k.a. Thatcher. We picked him up yesterday and the girls are already TOTALLY in love with him (as are DH and I). He is very calm, very loving and smart as a whip (he came to us "pl'd" and had already caught his first bird).

Aww, you made my heart pound just looking at him. There is something about a sleepy puppy smell. He is beautiful and I hope you guys have many years of joy and love with him.
