I wanted a cute hat for DS for summer. So I used some cotton ease for this and I think it came out really cute! I probably crocheted it in less than an hour... all of it done in the car on our recent trips!

I used this pattern from Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/visor-beanie BUT, i used a G hook all the way through and omitted row 9 to make it fit for DS. I am making another one right now, and I'll be adding another row to the visor for more shading for DS's eyes.

And just because it's so cute:

Just another note: until DS was born just two years ago, I had NEVER used a pattern to make anything. If it wasn't a blanket or scarf, and my own made up patterns for crochet... I didn't even attempt it. I thought it was too hard to make something with any other shape other than a square or rectangle. Crocheting in the round for DS's first longies... I didn't even realize what it was until I just did it. LOL So, now you see why i'm so proud of a simple little hat, and being able to adjust a pattern to make it work. Smile
