Yikes. I guess I need to start double bagging too.

I agree about the plastic bags.

I recently got yarn that either it rained or somehow got wet. Because a polymailer isn't necessarily 100% protective of outside elements, while the yarn sat in my mailbox it mildewed and smelled terrible (I've never had something like that happen with wool. I actually had to google whether or not wool could mildew). Had it been in a plastic bag, I'm guessing it would have been okay. I was really upset.

I buy drawstring bags from VihnThi to ship all my knits in, to protect them from damage. Other items I pack in other forms of reusable wrapping, then tape up the polymailer like you wouldn't believe. lol3

I agree that a plastic bag can be a life saver. And whenever I get a package with a plastic bag (drawstring or zip-loc) I just put the bag into my shipping drawer to re-use.

I know it's been said, but I absolutely have to mention the mail carriers smoking. I have seen comments on forums about buying used diapers from people who "claimed to have a smoke free house." It's not a chance I want to take. It's not really applicable with cards, but I double bag when I sell used diapers and wool. I always reuse both the plastic bags and poly mailers when I sell used goods, so the environment is no worse off.
