I managed to make it on the treadmill this afternoon. Total I did 4.5 miles. 2.37 jogging, 2.13 walking at a steep incline. Burned 708 calories in 1hr8min. My eating has been much better the last couple of days. AF showed up a few days early on Friday so that's probably why I managed to eat all the chocolate in the house last week. lol Oh well. I'm back on track now.

seeing results is what is motivating me. I get to buy new clothes and fit my "skinny" clothes again. In the beginning it was pure hatred of my body that finally made me get going doing something about it.

I also educated myself so much in regards to how I was eating that I don't think I can ever go back again. I was shocked by many eating habits I had. On example, skim milk, I LOVE it and would drink a glass (not a cup) with every meal and often between meals. One cup of skim milk is 86 calories and when I really should only be eating 1200ish in a day I couldn't believe how fast it adds up. I no longer drink my calories (unless my calcium is low for the day). I always thought milk was healthy and skim milk didn't really count as anything. I now know how to read labels better than ever and I make better choices because of it. There used to be this yummy chocolate dainty bar thing I would buy when we would have a party and after now looking at the nutritional info a piece that measures 2"x1" (not very big) is 275 calories! I could easily eat 3 pieces that size in an evening! Holy cow! I still buy "junk" food but often make my own in a healthier way.

I have no yet found my exercise motivation but I plan to tone up once I see what is under all that fat!

okay.....so I am not going to say my start weight (too embarrasing).....but lets just say it's WELL over 200lbs and I have more weight to lose than some of you ladies weigh right now.

my goal weight is to be approx 145lbs (eventually) but my 1st mini goal is to lose a total of 50lbs by my moms wedding in June (Fathers day weekend) and I am almost 1/2 way there.....so I'm a bit ahead of the game. YAY!

I actually started on weight watchers (online version) the last week of January and so far I am at 19.5 lbs lost. Tommorrow (mon) is my weigh in though so it is probably more than that now.

I wanted to tell you all about a podcast I've recently been told about by my cousin. It is called YELL AT YOUR FAT this lady is soooo funny. She tells all about her weight loss journey and gives tips and just talks about struggles and overcoming obstacles etc.

You just go to I tunes and do a search and right now she has 14 podcasts available but her goal is to do 139 of them since that is how much weight she has lost total to date.....but I can't seem to find any more than 14 so maybe that's it? maybe she's not doing any more? or I dunno?

but anyway I have listened to the first 4 and I love it......so I'll get through the next 10 and hopefully by then I'll find more.

Check it out.....it's very funny!!

Ok guys, we are coming to the end of the first week!!

How'd we do? I think it's too early to weigh in, just tell us what you did this week that made you feel good!!!

I walked every other day this week and my legs feel sore - that makes me happy cause I know I'm making some muscle!!!

I 'went' more than anyone on the planet this week thanks to some detoxing.

I need to work on drinking more water during the day! By the time I realize "Oh crap I only had 3 cups of water today towards my 8" it's like 7 p.m. at night!

Now, your turn!!

i started the daniel fast for church (well, modified since i'm BF) but i have a feeling it'll re-train me how to eat fruits and veggies instead of cheese & bread. i ran twice last week only, but did lots of walking (was out of town). haven't gotten on a scale yet....

I did great this weigh in ...... I lost 4.2 lbs this week so I am at 22lbs lost total.

I did really well this last week in general, got in all my water, kept my portions in control and made sure to eat tons of fruits/veggies.

Today I even took the kids for a walk to the park for an hour, so I'm starting this new week off right.

I found a recipe online too that I tried on friday and it was fantastic so I thought I'd share. I'm on a beans and lentil kick....so this was one of my experimental meals. I loved it.

Yummy Lentils and Spinach

Ingredients

3/4 cup lentils
5 cups water
3 tablespoons of olive oil
1 large garlic clove, minced or pressed
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (more or less to taste)
1 can chopped tomatoes
juice of half a lemon (more or less to taste)
1 handful or 2 of baby spinach
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt (more or less to taste)

Directions:

Wash lentils. Place lentils and water in a large saucepan. Bring water to a full boil, then lower the heat to medium and cook, covered, for twenty minutes. Reduce heat to low. Stir in the olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, salt, and pepper flakes. Cover the pot, and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add spinach, cook 1 or 2 minutes more until spinach is just wilted. Add lemon juice. Remove from heat. Serve with rice.

Serves: 4

Preparation time: about 1 hour

** If I were to do it again, I would cut down on 1 cup of water and add way more spinach. I also don't see the point of adding olive oil.....I don't know that it does anything for the meal.....so maybe i'd omit or 1/2 the amount**
