Which style knitter are you? Have you always knit that way?

I am learning and my MIL taught me English. I am watching the continental demos at knittinghelp.com and I just cannot wrap my mind around it. Embarassed

Just curious what everyone here does . . .

definitely continental. it's not that hard once you get used to it and it's a LOT faster, imo.

That's what I hear about continental so I had been hoping to learn it. I tend to be a little impatient. . . lol I guess I will keep practicing!

English.

Is knitting backwards titled English, too?
I often wonder about that.

English. I don't think I could get my nodominant hand to do that either, maybe I could if I tried really hard on it since that is the hand I use to hold my yarn when I crochet.

I started somewhat recently, and when I was starting, a friend referred me to knittinghelp.com. She also highly recommended learning continental. So I tried both and found that I was most comfortable w/ Continental. And I'm even right handed! I just found english very awkward and cumbersome for me.

But then, I didn't knit at the time, and didn't have any habits to unlearn! I can't imagine trying to switch if I already knew English -- that would just be so HARD!!
