Which style knitter are you? Have you always knit that way?
I am learning and my MIL taught me English. I am watching the continental demos at knittinghelp.com and I just cannot wrap my mind around it.
Just curious what everyone here does . . . _________________ Megan - SortaCrunchy mommy to koala child Dacey - 1/28/05 and crazy kid Aliza Joy - 9/5/07! |

Yeah, English here - I don't think I could get my nondominate hand to do that. _________________ Leah, SAHM to Curren and Ellie - waiting #3 due August 14 and soooo happy my soldier is still home here with us! |

That's what I hear about continental so I had been hoping to learn it. I tend to be a little impatient. . . I guess I will keep practicing! _________________ Megan - SortaCrunchy mommy to koala child Dacey - 1/28/05 and crazy kid Aliza Joy - 9/5/07! |

I learned English 15 years ago and still knit English now. I would like to learn Continental someday. _________________ Tracey Single Mama to Aidan (11/03) |

English.
Is knitting backwards titled English, too?
I often wonder about that. _________________ Cynthia

English. I don't think I could get my nodominant hand to do that either, maybe I could if I tried really hard on it since that is the hand I use to hold my yarn when I crochet. _________________ ~Jen~

I started somewhat recently, and when I was starting, a friend referred me to knittinghelp.com. She also highly recommended learning continental. So I tried both and found that I was most comfortable w/ Continental. And I'm even right handed! I just found english very awkward and cumbersome for me.
But then, I didn't knit at the time, and didn't have any habits to unlearn! I can't imagine trying to switch if I already knew English -- that would just be so HARD!!
