My parents have been here for the week visiting and helping us out. It's been great! We went tent camping for the first time as a family. It went really well and we're excited to do it again soon (probably for a fiber festival in a couple weeks). We got home on Wed and on Thurs Eliza had eye surgery to correct her lazy eye. It was an exhausting day for us as parents, but Eliza did great and we were home within 5 hours. I will say that holding her while they put her to sleep pretty much broke my heart, but I had to be there for her. So glad that's over though and her healing is coming along. It no longer makes me queasy when I look at her eye
So, my parents leave tomorrow morning and it will be back to the same old, same old. What's everyone else up to? _________________ Katie ~ wife to JD. mama to 3 amazing kiddos!

I'm so happy Eliza's surgery went well and she is recovering nicely.
I'm getting ready to go on vacation with Nicki and her family...we are heading to San Diego to go to the Zoo, SeaWorld, and the Safari Park, and then to Huntington Beach to stay with my folks for a few days before returning home. Still have some things to buy/reserve for the trip, as well as some things to get done before leaving, but it's all coming together quite nicely. I can't wait...I haven't been away for 2 years, so I really need it, but I also love doing things like this...I'm just a big kid!! _________________ ~Mary, Mom to N, grandma to R (10/08), E (4/11)

I've been busy all summer it seems, can't believe it's already August.
I am fretting about getting things sewn for Faith for school and for getting stuff sewn for Olivia before she grows anymore, she's chunking up big time!
We are leaving later this month for a 6 day camping trip at one of our absolute favorite places in the mountains, when we get back we have 1 day to do laundry and repack for another 3 day trip for labor day weekend. Then we get back on Labor day and school starts the next day. _________________ Sarah
