I had my dr's appointment this morning, and I got weighed like every other time. No weight gain since the beginning of the pregnancy. This is really weird for me because I gained 52 and 62lbs respectively for both kids. I have to admit that with my first two I ate like crazy, I LOVED food and would eat more than even my father! This time around food really turns me off, I'll eat because I'll be a bit hungry, but then not even eat 1/3 of my plate. I'm wondering if me quitting Celexa 2 months ago has to do with the fact that there has been no weight gain? Like it's balancing it out, Celexa makes you eat a lot and gain a LOT of weight (I gained 50lbs in 2 yrs because of those meds), and since I stopped I eat less, and I'm losing weight but because of the baby growing I'm balancing at the same weight range. Am I making any sense?
Either way, the doctor didn't seem concerned, the uterus is measuring at its normal range for 6 months, baby's kicking hard all the time, no blood or discharge ever, and I'm feeling ok (apart from the ligaments stretching and hurting so much I can hardly walk).
Just venting a bit I guess, I'm just weirded out by the fact that I'm not gaining at all, am not hungry most days, and I'm losing weight everywhere but the belly. Anyone experience something similar before? I guess I need some reassurance. _________________ Genevieve

If baby is okay than I am sure you are fine I can't say I have had that happen, I gained 100 the first time and 60 the second. But with Roo I gained 60 but didn't get big at all. I was worried I didn't measure big enough, all was well though. Pregnancy can be scary and there is always something to worry about. Sounds like you both are doing fine though! I would just be grateful! _________________ Angel |

Thanks Angel . I am, I'm just so weirded out by not gaining any weight in 6 months. Compared to the other 2 it's totally different! I'm not worried yet, we'll see how the rest of the pregnancy goes. _________________ Genevieve

I'm just seeing this, not used to checking this forum yet! LOL
I did that with Stella. I was sick the whole 9 months though. I only gained a little bit, and as the ladies at church reminded me this week - I looked wiped and completely malnurished but month 6. But she was fine - a healthy 8 pounds 4 oz.
Don't worry about the baby - they get what they need sometimes to your detriment! |

The running Joke around here is that my quick weight loss plan is pregnancy. LOL. I ALWAYS loose weight. With the twins, I lost 32lbs. With the baby girl I lost 44lbs. As long as you KNOW you are getting enough protein and vitamins.. and the baby is measuring and doing well.. you are fine
(Now, hopefully you dont do what I do and gain all of it back plus some while nursing LOl) _________________ Courtney Photographer/ Midwife apprentice, wife to mike, Adoptive Mama to Landan Lowell (6), IVF mama to River Jordan and Toccoa Garbriel (2.5) and our sweet Evangeline Annaliese is almost ONE!

I had gestational diabetes with my pregnancies so my midwife put me on a strict diet and checking my blood sugar, etc. I only gained 20 lbs with Logan, who was my last, and he was a 10 lb baby. _________________ Joyce - homeschooling WAHM to 4 wonderful kiddos Hillcountry Dollmaker Check me out at Lily Pad Landing and Fresh |

I am 5 months and have only gained 3lbs. I'm measuring right along and so is baby. I wouldn't worry to much if everything else is going good! _________________ ~Samantha

With my singleton pregnancy, I didn't gain any weight until 20 weeks. With my twin pregnancy, I gained only 3 lbs in the first 12 or 14 weeks. _________________ Sweetie to awesome DH and wrangler of the dynamic duo , , and the dynamic duo 2.0 (twin sisters)
