|
I've made a few doll clothes for 18" American Girl dolls and now I'm seeing a lot of doll clothes for Waldorf dolls. Someone asked about some clothes for a Blythe doll, so now I'm wondering....
Choosing from the list below, please let me know all the different types/sizes of dolls for which you would be interested in getting knit clothing, as well as whether you prefer cotton whenever possible, in order to keep the costs down, or if you prefer wool for everything.
1. American Girl/18" doll.
2. Blythe doll.
3. Waldorf doll - please note doll size/height
4. Barbie and other dolls of similar size _________________ ~Mary, Mom to N, grandma to R (10/08), E (4/11)

I have been meaning to reply to this, but kept getting sidetracked...sorry.
As of right now, I'm really only buying AG/18" doll clothes. I am the one who posted an ISO for Blythe clothes, but it was a special circumstance and I was looking for PETITE BLYTHE clothes, which are hard to find, and wouldn't normally be something I'd buy, but DD is concerned about her naked doll. However, if DD or I had a full size Blythe doll (approx. 12") I would definetely be in the market for clothes for her, and from what I know she certainly has a following! There is most likely some money in that
As of right now, DD is into AG/18" dolls, as are most of her friends, so that's really where my dollars are going.
I am probably more likely to buy acrylic because of cost and because it's likely to hold up a bit better to frequent 'hard' (and sometimes irresponsible) play
I would consider some winter-themed wool items (like a sweater or leg warmers), but cost would be a big factor in whether or not I bought it.

Thanks, Kaylene, that does help...and you were the one to whom I referred when I mentioned the Blythe doll clothing request.
I totally understand where you are coming from with the reasons for wanting to buy items made of acrylic and the reason I've done them in cotton is not only to keep the costs down for people with your same views (cotton and acrylic would cost the same), but also because you may be in the minority who would purchase acrylic items as it's not as eco-friendly as cotton. _________________ ~Mary, Mom to N, grandma to R (10/08), E (4/11)
