The hand made doll market is HUGE! Lot of adult collectors. It's like any other kind of collectable, people will pay huge bucks for certain handmade hard to find dolls.
It's like a trophy really. I love handmade dolls and have quite a few, if I had the money to spend like that - I'd be right there in the thick of the bidding cause that sweet baby is ART!!! 
But yeah, it's like a certain limited edition coin. The actual worth is only about $3.00 per say... but since it's limited piece of artwork, people fight tooth over nail to get that $3.00 coin for sometimes thousands of dollars.... I hope that comparison helps a bit  |
