I love to knit socks, but I am so slow. I would be happy to do something small, like worsted weight toddler socks, but right now I am knitting myself some sport weight socks, and after a week, I only have the toes done, lol. But I do knit two at a time, so I guess that's not SO bad, right?

Usually you send a skein to be knitted up and then a skein of equal value as payment. I think the standard is for stockinette or ribbed ankle socks. Knitters and senders can work out if the knitter is willing to do longer socks or lace/cable/etc. for extra yarn. Make sense?

Starting to look a bit more equal. 
Sati, I will be scheduling 8 weeks from the time the yarn is to be sent out by Senders for the Knitters to send the finished product back to their partners. However, if that's not long enough for some people, as long as they complete their project as soon thereafter as possible AND keep their partner apprised of the situation, a bit of extra time to complete them is fine. Also, to help you out, you may indicate that you will work with nothing thinner than sport weight, or maybe even DK weight, which will make the knitting quicker than fingering weight.
Genevieve, Kristina provided a perfect response to your question (thanks, Kristina, for stepping in with a response )
Janine, I could open this up for sign-ups tomorrow and then in about 3 weeks, yarn would need to be sent and then finished products sent back about 8 weeks after that, if that helps with your decision to participate (and I hope you do  ).
