Eczema treatment

DD's body is covered with what I assume is eczema. It does not bother her but looks terrible. What products do you use if you little on has eczema? Are there any WAHM products you recommend or commercial products? It does have to be child safe, not something so an adult. Not sure if a bath wash, body lotion, etc is the best route or all. Any input on products would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

And, if you make a product, please feel free to spam me with it! Looking for in-stock, not something I have to wait for.

We went to a Homeopath and cleared eczema in 3 treatments. It's not been back, not even dry skin, in 8yrs.

our health store carries a homeopatchic cream that worked wonders...i cant remember the name but, ill try and google it.

We usually use coconut oil or shea butter plain to keep the skin moisturized and control flair ups. It usually does the trick, but if that doesn't work, I'll pull out the healing body salve and use that for a few days. We also treat with diet and allergy meds to keep the eczema from getting worse.

The best thing to do is find the trigger and eliminate it.
With my son for a bad flareup the only thing that gets rid of it are steroid creams.
To keep it at bay we avoid all triggers and use wahm body butters, bag balm, or aquaphor.

Yes, Becky! I was trying to think of the word triggers when talking about diet, and it was driving me mad that I couldn't think of the word. I've had a house full of sick people and couldn't even word it right. LOL I forgot we also use a steroid cream as well, when Lily has a bad flare up.

Kay is allergic to most soaps, laundry detergents, lotions, etc. One thing we have to do is hit Rikki up for some pure castile soap whenever we even start to run low. Same thing goes for my little sister.

That would be the same thing as above. Eliminating the trigger.

My 10yo got eczema "out of the blue" a couple of years ago. Hers was directly related to going vegetarian, after about a year of that her eczema started.... I took away the soy and after a long time hers is definitely in remission (or whatever you want to call it... clear for the most part). She can't have soy products or edamame, it will instantly flare up.
I used my own eczema body butter on her and that was the only thing that helped when it was bad. We tried several over-the-counter things including aquaphor and all made it worse. She ended up finally getting some prescription cream from the dermatologist but never used it, she stuck with her body butter and it worked. Virgin coconut oil helped a great deal on the patches behind her ears, easier to use in that area than the butter... we'd just do a hair treatment (warmed VCO, slather on hair, wrap in plastic, sit for 10min) and that took care of the hard to reach eczema htere too. Wink

Good luck. Cremes and butters help, but it's really figuring out the trigger and eliminating it that's going to DO it. I'm sure others have much more detailed and informed things to say, but eliminating common triggers first seemed that way to go. I read up on it and knew soy was a big trigger, put two and two together (considering her eating tons of soy instead of meat) and pinpointed the trigger fairly easily. IIRC major triggers are soy, wheat, milk and eggs..?
