welcome

Hello and welcome!

It's nice to see some enthusiasm. I had a particularly rough home school day today so I'm feeling a bit demoralized and wondering if I should try the public school down the road.

I am in my 4th year of homeschooling. I have a 3rd grade boy, 1st grade boy and a little girl who is 2.

This schooling board is somewhat quiet but I do check it now and then.

Awesome. Sending is always an option. i try to really test myself if its an emotion of wanting to send them or a Great Resource to send them. Everyday is hard for us. I always LOVE when we all Laugh hard at the struggles we make it through. hang tuff. School/teaching children and ourselves to be more responsible is ALWAYS crazy hard. HANG TUFF. Smile to battle!

Well HELLO again, its March 18,2013. update update update update

my oldest Son has officially gone off to school. He is 16 yrs old. SLEEP AWAY SCHOOOLL. Smile He has been homeschooled since grade 4 about 10 yrs old.

This child is brilliant and ready to FLY ! we found a great school dwon in SOuth KAKALAKie... and He is doing soooooooooooooo well. SO as it is a high school, WE HAD to make his trans scripts EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEk ! It wasnt that bad, BUT IF you dont know what the heck your doing in the sense of our style of homeschooling YOUD be like EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEk, because you litterally have to make sense and break down the knowledge and research exactly what your child has accomplished UNSCHOOLING rotf, IT WAS epic, once we translated all this onto paper and into subjects. THIS child is AMAZING ! he has indeed accomplished coarses naturally learning on his own FREE WILL and OWN INTERESTS ! it flipping WORKS ! Unschooling works. If you dont understand this style Look it up ! their are soOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many types of Homeschooling you can embark in and on ! GAIN knowledge about the different types of homeschooling that interests you and makes you feel comfortable and in control. AND most of all GET to know your child. HAPPY HOMESCHOOLING ~ now, 6 to GO ! bye for now <3 ellie

YOU are so crucial to the rest of the body of families beginning to homeschool who thinK?...what if my child is college bound. Its really AMAZING to hear a testimony who assisted their children into college after being homeschooled. I remembering thinking , in the beginning,"can this really be done?" so i went to a BIG annual homeschooling convention, and grabbed every college there, to see just what they wanted from a home schooled scholar trying to get in. The words that each of the colleges where repeating over and over was "RE CORDs RE CORDS RECORDS and start them in 7 grade. So really make transcripts that young and SPECIFICALLY and truly truly *if you are not using seat work (books) that are not an accredited collection. I LOVE TO HEAR how your children entered and what you had to show the school. every detail PLEASE !!! thank you <3 ellie foltyn

Hi mamas! My husband and I will be moving in the next couple months. I'm currently a teacher (high school English & French), but looking to homeschool my children who are now only 2 and 11 months. I want a change of pace with my career, and today a fellow teacher mentioned opening a nursery school/doing child care out of my home...

This actually sounds wonderful to me, but I haven't a clue how to start! shrug

Does anyone have experience with this? We will be living in NY state, which I'm sure makes a difference. TIA!

HI ! and awesomeness ! i personally would start caring for my own children first in the sense of homeschooling as you know already Smile,. and start at the state level. Ask around and google all the rules for homeschooling in your state! its the only thing i can tell you to start with. I do not have or run a day care. BUT i do know here in Jersey there are many ways to have a day care. one in particular is the program called mothers helper. You can watch other moms children if they have child care money help from the state. That was the only idea i had for you to look into after reading your post. it might work as its a smaller scale of your idea. Blessings on your adventure <3 ring around the rosie! ring around the rosie! :D to battle!
