I have noticed dark patches in Drake's eyes since birth and just wondered if anyone that was familiar with iridology could glean anything from them?

I'm not familiar with them...I think they are much more noticeable to blue eyes though since they are so light. Both my brother and sister have this issue though....I'm curious!

We talked a while back before you had Drake...I think you were just having Emerson (?) tested for allergies (or maybe you were doing an elimination diet). Anyway, did you have any genetic testing done???

Chart is very interesting Smile

The geneticist let us know we have Ehler's Danlos syndrome but that was it. However, we are patients at the Neurosensory Centers of America now and they understand the rest of our problems and are curing us with a simple protocol. Emerson's original allergy test showed he was allergic to nearly everything. After 8 months on the protocol he is now only allergic to dogs (mildly with no actual symptoms), and sensitive to red dye, MSG, gluten and TBHQ preservative. Before it was gluten, oats, eggs, dairy, salicylates (grapes, tomatoes, almost all fruits and veggies), all additives, most grains, all trees, all grasses, fungus, etc....... LOL! Huge improvements - a totally different kid :D

Iridology would be regarded by eye doctors as quackery - and it may be - I have no idea. I do remember a lady when I was in high school that dabbled in it as a hobby and she successfully diagnosed a bunch of people faster and more accurately than their doctors did. But that is all I know about it Smile Drake's eyes were like that from birth and it reminded me of her and made me curious what someone who knew iridology would say about them.

Can you email me privately with more info on this protocol? It's not a rush, whenever you get a chance! We have been following a different protocol lately, more homeopathic than the first..but I'd love to get Cole off this ridiculously restrictive diet!!!

The real underlying problem in most of these kids (and adults for that matter) is a neuroimmune disorder. It is a disorder in the way they (we) process B vitamins. The same root cause is displayed differently in different people, but the "cure" is essentially the same. They have a 98% success rate curing autism spectrum disorders from PDD-NOS to full blown autism, as well as allergies, pain disorders, vertigo, ADD, mood disorders, and all other variety of things they have found are caused by this same root problem. Gotta get off the puter but I will add more later Smile Here is a good link for our Doc's podcasts http://www.drkendalstewart.podbean.com/

Interesting - I have a dark spot in the top center of my left iris which is where the hypothalamus is highlighted on several charts I'm looking at. Wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that we're having issues getting pregnant for a second time.

I don't know, but its always possible shrug I'd be sure to check on thyroid issues/iodine - www.stopthethyroidmadness.com and www.breastcancerchoices.org have good info on those. Progesterone deficiency is another thing to check on maybe. For us clogged tubes was our first hurdle, which we discovered after nearly a year of trying. Did an HSG and saw both tubes totally blocked, but the HSG procedure removed the blockages and we got pregnant right away after that.

Yes, Melissa! I know all about the b12 issues. We did Methylcobalamin injections for at least 1 year. He was horrible on them. This was like 6 years ago though. 3 years ago I paid a crap-load of money on a genetic test and we found out he can only handle Hydroxycobalamin and that he also can't process folic acid or even folinic (both of which are needed to metabolize b12). So he has to take 5methyltetrahydrofolate LOL.

The lady who ran the genetic testing sells RNAs...which I'm not sold on. Theoretically, it's possible to create them, but I don't know how they would remain stabilized. The RNAs are supposed to "bypass" the genetic mutations that a person has...if that makes any sense at all!

Here is what we use http://www.neurobiologix.com/Neuro_Immune_Stabilizer_B12_Cream_p/46.htm along with 1 year of amantadine and acyclovir with 3 weeks of hydrocort at the beginning. They have to lower their brain inflamation load to really start healing well. Meanwhile strengthening the immune system with probiotics, omega 3s, mycellized D3 drops (new to us this week) and a gluten free diet.

Yeah, sadly we have done all that stuff in different forms...except for the cream! The cream sounds similar to the RNA stuff I was talking about. We were blindly spending money hoping it would work, but we saw no difference. He is very high functioning so I can't really complain...but social stuff is always an issues..*SIGH*

FYI We did see HUGE gain when we did Valtrex (name brand of acyclovir) paired with Diflucan. Drs said he would prob act normal for first 2-3 weeks and then around week 3 he would start to get sick (shedding virus) with high fever but would be amazingly clear. It happened, on day 21, he started speaking in 3+ word sentences, and before only used picture cards to communicate. We saw no change when we took him off the Valtrex/Diflucan.

Also, we did Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to help with the inflammation...and it seemed to help a lot!

P.S. we order probiotics from www.kirkmanlabs.com. They have gluten free high potency!

You have to do RNA and DNA specific antivirals together for them to be effective - that is why they use amantadine and acyclovir together. Here is an awesome presentation that sort of skims over all of it http://www.viddler.com/explore/neurosensory/videos/8/
