dd is having a "princess tea party" birthday party so I wanted to do something different.
I had wanted to buy small china teacups to decorate the cake with but couldn't find anything that wasn't a whole set that I would have to buy multiples of to have enough cups.

Sooo... I decided to try sugar molding. Here are a few sneak peeks of the cups and saucers and the teapot. These are made totally of food but probably shouldn't be eaten (it would hurt your teeth!).

the cake will be a flat rectangle sheet, draped in fondant that I will do scrollwork on, so it will look like a tablecloth, the tea set will be arranged on top.

Oh my goodness! That is fantastically amazing! I am so envious of those who have artistic abilities like this!!!! I can work a pair of knitting needles to make fabric. However, painting, sculpting, pretty baking, scrapbooking, and most any other art of any kind is beyond me.
