Simone (my 9 yo) has a trapeze performance in a couple weeks and we've been working on the perfect costume for some time.

I started with one I've already shown out of practice fabric. We then moved onto the expensive final fabric. We love love the shiny metallic stripes in the velour but after we got it done we realized it was way too "rock star" to go with the operatic love song she choose to perform to.

A friend of mine picked up a bunch of performance fabric for me in LA and when we got the box it had the perfect stretch velvet print in there. We decided the original design needed tweaking to go with the flow on the fabric though. So, another practice unitard (good thing she gets plenty of wear out of them in class). This is cotton/lycra from Sewzanne's. A professional photographer showed up in class the night she was wearing it to take pictures of another woman and offered to take some of Simone for me. Yay! So I'm going to inundate you with pictures Smile

My favorite - it is so Simone.

And our final draft! Back has the same keyhole as the rock star suit above so I won't show you that Smile

Close up of the swarovski crystals. They have serious bling in the light.

I'm a bit addicted to making these. Thanks for looking at my novel.

I have to say that while the first one is pretty cute...I LOVE the last one. That is adorable. And your daughter is amazing. My oldest would LOVE doing that if we had anything like that in our area!
