So here's a little something you'll be surprised to hear about me.
I'm lazy. Seriously, my motto since becoming a SAHM is "don't do today what you can put off till tomorrow and hope the 'do it' fairy will come take care of it then!"
That applies to my image as well. I RARELY wear makeup. I DO NOT dress up. My closet looks like a hobo lives in there. Old yoga pants - and when I saw old, I mean I had Sam (MBG) make me 3 pair of them over 2 years ago and they are still my daily wear clothes.
If I'm not in my yoga pants, I'm in blue jeans and an old wrinkled tee. My hair is always put into a sloppy ponytail too.
And heels? What are those?
BUT
My children are always dressed beautifully! I mean, when people see them, they probably think they have one of those high maintenance mother's as well. I can't tell you how many times I've received a shocked look that I'm Piper's mother. LOL Bows, clean shoes, beautiful clothes.
So I think I embarrass Piper. She keeps asking me why I don't dress pretty. Why I don't wear make up. Why I don't fix my hair.
So it bugs me that I've let myself go like this. Hitting 30 has been tough on me and I'm looking down the nose of my 31st birthday (Saturday 22nd) Losing extra weight has become difficult - I used to be able to shed it as fast as I gained it. Not anymore. I'm as big as I was after I had Piper right now.
SO!!!
I joined a gym! I am sore as it gets right now. Sitting on the potty makes my legs shake and ache! But I'm going to start feeling better about myself dogonnit!
And I got rid of my 'slave clothes' You know... those clothes you put on just so you can say you got out of your pajamas today... though honestly, they aren't even really a step up from the pajamas... just something different. LOL But you wear them everyday....
Gone.
Except the clothes Sam made me.... those stay! They are my 'workout' clothes now! |

Good for you!! I feel horrible when I don't get dressed for the day and today is one of those day!! The kids are sick, so I should stay in my jammies too, right?! _________________ Jessica~WAHM to Julianne 5-19-07, Jocelyn 8-10-08 & our new sweet baby Jacqueline 12-30-10

Well, I figure I'll give myself a fighting chance this time. Getting rid of those clothes that allow you to gain as much weight as you want... aren't good for me. They enable my laziness! LOL
But man, I love me a stretchy pair of yoga pants! |

nice! i'm impressed. i am begrudgingly following weight watchers right now. i really don't wanna, though. buuut, i'm so over maternity clothes and i refuse to still be in them in 3 months...so the fat must go. i, too, am trying to stay out of my "slave clothes." it's so tempting, though. _________________ jodi addicted to

Holy wow - I would be sooo embarrassed!!!!! I tried this last year and it was an absolute FAIL! If I were to get a letter grade... it would be an 'incomplete'
So I'm thinking I may be hiring a personal trainer for 6 weeks to get me going and hold me accountable.
IF I do that, I post before and after pictures! |

Congrats Carrie! I am actually in around week 2 of this. I still had 20+ lbs to get to my pre-Lette weight but I think that would be unhealthy for me on my frame now so I am working on losing the last 10-15 I want to lose. I also went through my closet and got rid of most of it and now I get dressed ( embarassing that wasnt everyday I know ) and do my hair daily! I dont feel better in makeup so I dont always do it. _________________ Angel |

WTG! Is it getting dressed if I actually put a bra on?? LOL Well, being pregnant, I'm in my yoga pants all the time now, unless i have to leave the house. Then I get my maternity jeans and put them on. _________________ Under the Hill Crafts

that is awesome. I was jsut talking with another homeschooling mom about this today. I dont hesitate to drop good money on the kids clothes ( to which they turn around and destroy) and I rotate a few tee shirts, and 1 pair of jeans and one pair of sweats.
I need to do something drastic too! _________________ Melissa Mom with 11 kiddos. 4 who run on Earth, 7 who soar with the angels.

I do the same thing. My kids have incredible clothes and I just wear whatever.
But...then I just starting feeling 'off' everyday and traded in my sweatpants and yoga pants for some really nice jeans. I know it's just jeans and a t-shirt, but I feel soo much better. I have so many nice clothes for command events, balls and the like but I never feel like wearing them unless attending one of those events, but after 2 months of getting dressed in the morning, I actually really want to wear them.
Go you! This is an excellent goal. _________________ Cait - Mommy to Bella and Reese
