I'm going in a few weeks to an indoor water park, well, we're going for a convention, but the water park is attached to the convention hall...
I plan on asking my midwife at my appt before i leave if its ok, but do you guys think there would be anything wrong with going on water slides while pregnant? I plan on wearing water shoes so that i decrease my risk of slipping, but I *really* wanna go on the slides! _________________ Sandra (26)

Is it great wolf lodge? they have some waterslides that you ride in a super large human size wheel type tube. That one should be fine. I dont know anything about the others. I think it would just depend on how fast they go and stuff like that. They have some really mellow little slides too. _________________ Erin

Nope, its Coco keys, but pretty much very similar to wolf lodge. The slides are tubes i think - i was more worried about the fact that when you go on a slide, your BP elevates from the adrenaline - so that's where my question comes from. _________________ Sandra (26)

Yeah, i'm super excited! I'm going to be there for an anime convention that I'll be selling my goods at, then my baby shower the next weekend I figure since we're flying in a day early, maybe we'll hit up the water park before all the convention people come in.
I do plan on wearing water shoes and holding onto hubby when we're walking out of the water - i just have a bad vision in my mind that some kid is going to come barreling into me and knock me over. So, I think i'll just walk holding onto hubby just in case. _________________ Sandra (26)

I have been to a water park (normally Great Wolf or Kalahari) at least once every pregnancy, actually tried to convince hubby last night to go Halloween weekend but that didn't work. There are huge signs that say not to ride slides and such while pregnant and once I was waiting in line (pregnant with Sully) to watch Madison go down and I was approached by a lifeguard telling me it's a huge no-no. So when pregnant I stick to the lazy river and kiddie areas. _________________

I personally wouldn't. We went to an amusement park with water rides and there lots of signs saying people with such and such conditions including pregnancy weren't allowed to ride.
I am of the motto - better safe than sorry though. _________________ ~Sam Trent

Same here, for both. I was around 17 and I went down a water slide at Holiday World and tumbled out at the end and busted my lip and was all banged up and it hurt so bad! if I was pregnant I would have been terrified. _________________ Angel |
