WARNING: DON'T look if you're a weenie- a tiny cutie pie

I found this cutie in our mailbox and Katie took some pictures of him. He's actually big for a jumping spider- almost 1/2 inch! We love their round eyes, furry, chubby bodies and bright colors. We love the way they turn to look at you and then jump! He kept jumping onto the camera lens. LOL

Katie named him "Dexter." Isn't he precious?

OMG! you saw that thing in real life! He is cute when you zoom in like that but I sure don't like the idea of a spider that jumps! Too unpredictable for me!

Jumping spiders are everywhere if you look! They don't build webs but hunt for their prey. They hang out on the sides of buildings and fences and are 1/4 to 1/2 inch long. The females are shades of brown but the males are black and white with bright colors- this guy had a bright orange spot on his butt:

Ok, I think Katie has found her professional calling. Her pics are amazing.

And he is big for a jumping spider! We have them here, but they are just tiny little things. They are the one spider I usually just shoo away. lol3
