I had all my babies at home with my doctor. But now due to malpractice insurance he no longer can do them at home. Now my sister is pregnant and would like to have her baby at home and I have no idea to let her know how to find a midwife or doula. She lives in Iowa so I don't know how common they are there, but if there is a website to find midwifes I would love to let her know.

When I went looking for one I just googled Grants Pass OR Midwivies/homebirth. Another good place to look would be the mothering.com forums, they have a vast amount of information about MWs, homebirths and laws.

I would suggest mothering.com in the finding your tribe area you should be able to find some local stuff. Also, just googling and interviewing!

I asked on freecycle cafe before and got some suggestions. I found mine through my mommy group which was a natural mommies group.
