i worked with a woman who would throw them out. her reasoning was that her time/effort was worth more than what it would take and she'd rather replace the underwear. why she didn't just use disposable pull-ups i'll never know. it must have been awfully expensive!

oh, and i can't imagine throwing out clothes that get pooped on every time baby has a blow out! eep! Shocked

I also threw EBF poo straight in without even rinsing. It was also part of the reason I didn't want to start solids.

Ugh....I still get that argument from my cousin. It's so ridiculous! She has 8, yes I said EIGHT, children, all of them diapered in sposies, and I'm SURE at least ONCE they each had a blowout in their sposies, she cleaned their clothes and washed them in the washer. But, still, she tells me it's so gross to imagine poop in her washing machine!! Ridiculous Closed minded people!

I know women that will even throw out jeans (even their favorites), sheets, or anything else that AF leaks on because they don't want to put blood in the washing machine. That's insanely wasteful and I can't even imagine not trying to save something first. It completely boggles my mind.

Yes. Us cloth-diapering moms have an "in" with tree fairies who make the poopies disappear lol3

I was once a sposie user and then I saw the light, but when I said that I planned on switching - people were less than supportive. I had one friend who was like "But, newborn poop is the worst!" and I was confused until I realized that my baby was EBF and hers was not and frankly "my baby's poo didn't stink".

Seriously though, I can understand some of the ignorant comments and views since I had no idea that it would be this easy. But, to think that you are going to get through motherhood without ever having to wash something that has been pooped/peed/vomitted on is just silly.

You know what I've been thinking? Regarding those people who throw out clothing and underwear for poop or blood... what would they have ever done back in the days when you HAD to wash everything by hand, and not only that, you had to MAKE everything yourself as well!? Seriously.

When I tell friends I've switched to Mama Cloth, they all look at me like I'm crazy and they can't imagine washing them. Well, almost all my friends. I have one that is totally interested, and I want to build a little mini stash for her for Christmas. Smile

I am another who has a sprayer, but didn't bother with EBF poops.

Some people don't want to even try to "get it" so they simply won't.
