We're leaving to visit my ILs late Wednesday night. I want to keep using cloth on Bekah while we're gone (we'll be getting back the following Tuesday).

I'm pretty sure my MIL will let me use her washer (though I should probably check to be sure), but I don't have a hanging pail and I don't really want to take my diaper pail from my bathroom. My wetbags only fit a few diapers.

We had planned to just go ahead and use sposies for the trip, but I've gotten to where I can't stand the smell of them. And I just prefer her in cloth (so much cuter, don't ya know Smile ). Plus, my SIL is going to be a new CDer when the baby is born mostly due to me introducing her to the idea last yea, so I'd feel like a hypocrite using sposies.

Encourage me please, either way. Either it's okay to use the sposies and just suck it up with the smell. ILs will probably be with the baby a ton anyway. Or give me ideas for an alternative to taking the diaper pail with us.

What about a lidded trash can? If your MIL has one that you can use then that might work if the seal is pretty tight. You could also use your wetbags and see if they don't mind you washing a little more.

I suggest just using plastic garbage bags. Maybe some pail powder/baking soda/EO to keep the stink down.

I've done both for vacations and I always prefer cloth by the time I'm coming home. Sposies just don't work as well on dd and I'm cheap. Anyway, you can easily just use a trash bag for dirty dipes or a lidded trash can (that's what we do). Or go to the dollar store and get a plasticy laundry bag. I'd definitely ask about using the washer for them though. Some people get grossed out (?).

I've done both. I've gotten to the point though, with 2 in diapers, that I just use sposies on vacations. For me, it's proven to be too hard to wash and dry the way I need to to prevent stinkies at other people's homes.

If you do choose to use your cloth, you could even just get one of those XL ziplock bags and use that for a temporary diaper pail. Also, if using your cloth, make sure to remember to take enough wipes and a little water bottle to get them wet so that you don't carry wet smelly wipes.

I even used cloth part time while camping and just rinsed the wet ones really well in the sink, hung them to dry and re-used. When we got home, those got stripped right away.

Do you use a pail liner at home? When we travel, I just bring my pail liners along (they have a snap closure) and it works great. If no pail liner, I'd just do a plastic garbage bag. We do use disposable wipes on trips though, it's just easier. Have fun!

I would use disposables for the actual traveling (car or plane ride). Then while you are visiting, put them in either a garbage bag or your pail liner.

We just got back from 5 days in MN and I had Sky in cloth the whole time except for at night and on the plane. It was so much better! I used 3 wet bags and used mainly prefolds so washing was quick.

I have washable wetbag pail liners (the big kind) that I take to use for dirty dipes on trips.

Thanks for all the advice. I had planned to use sposies for the actual travelling part. I just needed to figure out while we're there.
