I swore I would never use sport, went to sport and then swore I would stay away from fingering, went to heavy fingering, swore I would stay away from the light stuff, and well you know the story. LOL
I do double strand my light fingering into a sport weight.

I was the same way, Jennifer. I could never understand why people would want to knit socks. Now that's all I ever knit!

My very first purchase of sock yarn was 5 skeins. My second purchase was 11 skeins. Embarassed I think that fingering and sport weight are only about 25% of my stash right now, but I feel that I need more to balance it out. I'm dyeing to knit a nice big shawl out of fingering weight this summer.

That's how I felt too. Wait till you try it though. Now I think all I buy is from fingering to DK. Come on over and join us. Resistance is futile.

Just wanted to say that there are a few extra super pretty cardigan patterns out there for fingering weight yarn:

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/austin-hoodie

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/geodesic-cardigan

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mountain-view-cardigan

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/featherweight-cardigan

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/evie-2

Just in case you needed a reason to use fingering weight. Angel
