Who has a super soaker son. She is thinking hemp, but I'm thinking Zorb. My kids are not super soakers. Pockets or AIO's probably...any suggestions for WAHM dipes?? _________________ ~Sam Trent

I'm kind of out of the WAHM diaper loop right now, but I just wanted to say that even though hemp was good at holding a super soaker, I had terrible issues with it holding stink. I had hemp dipes that I had to throw away because it was so bad. The best thing I ever found to do was to simply use a trifolded prefold in any diaper I owned. _________________ ~Lisa~

For us fitteds work best. I tried pockets but I really feel the fitteds work better as you usually can't stuff pockets enough and they leak anyhow. I have to use a PUL cover over the fitted and then wool. He sometimes soaks through the PUL cover Overnight we use a wool wrap from Celtic Cloth Creations. I don't know if she's around anymore but I've never found anything that compares. They are bulletproof.
I don't do hemp either. Love it in my pads.... not in dipes. Totally different chemistry there. I do like zorb. I'm really not much of a help though b/c what I've done is made my son a ton of doublers out of multiple layers of bamboo terry/fleece/or velour and zorb and I almost always use a doubler in his dipe. This way I can use just about any diaper and just add the doubler. I'm sure the prefold would work great as Lisa suggested... I just don't have a bunch so this is what worked for me. _________________ Janet aka Ama

I've got one of those super soakers too! I highly recommend bamboo/hemp blend fleece or french terry and Zorb as a combo in a fitted diaper.
I have figured out how to fit an AIO best for ds but fitteds with wool covers (or pul if preferred) work the best! Now we can do an entire over night 9-10 hrs easy.
No other combo did the trick for him. Hemp left stink and Zorb only works well for us paired with a super holding fabric like bamboo or the bamboo/hemp blend.
Wish you luck helping find something! _________________ Suzanne wife to Jim & momma to Mikayla & Nikolas

prefold around a zorb doubler in a pocket? that can hold ainsley overnight and she's a moderately heavy wetter. GAD makes reasonably priced pockets and you don't have to buy the insert, which can save some $. _________________ jodi addicted to

I want to try one of these for summer nights: http://hyenacart.com/Chelory/index.php?p=81922
She has zorb as an option for the soakers.
Mattie's a heavy wetter. I use GM goodnights! on her for nighttime with a zorb insert in under the snapped in soakers and wool. I can never get enough in pockets for them to not leak out the legs or over the top. _________________ Christina: Wifey to Mike. Mama to Spencer (9), Gavin (6) and Mattingly Grace (3). |

If you find something that works, let me know. My DS is a bigtime overnight super soaker. During the day, we use fitteds, with a Thirsties cover AND wool most of the time... but at night I have to use a sposie. Otherwise he soaks the bedding and everything else and wakes up at 3am crying becasue of it. _________________ Under the Hill Crafts

We use an SBish fleece sized diaper w/ a doubler and a thirsties cover. DD usually doesn't get changed at night and these hold her well. They are wet in the morning but I figure that is what it is for. No other dipe holds her all night without leaking.
Hope she finds something that works for them! _________________ Ellen

I have some bamboo prefolds from Little For Now, she used to be on hc, but now I think has her own site littlefornow.com I trifold one of her prefolds (plus the doubler) and stuff a pocket and we've never had a leak and DS goes to bed w. a sippy of water usually. _________________ Jen, wahm to three busy boys and wife to one awesome husband.

Fitteds worked the best for us, honestly.
West was the Queen of the SuperSoakers. When we did use a pocket we used a combo of a CottonBabies Microfiber (nice and big, filled out the sides of the pocket and adjustable for length) with a Knickernappies Hemp insert underneath. I used Knickernappies because they were the longest and most absobant of all I found.
This combo was great and didn't retain the "hemp stink" because they were two seperate inserts, I think.
