so cute - i've almost bought these a few times. i have her regular longies and her instructions are really readable and detailed. i'd think it would be really understandable at least, and probably not terribly hard! go for it! _________________ Michele

Those really shouldn't be hard. You need to graft & do a provisional cast on, they might be fiddly, but they aren't hard. I'm sure you have to do some sort of picking up stitches along the waistline - again, not hard.
I really like the look much more than the traditional style. _________________ Melinda

I've been really tempted too. I asked about getting them knitted before I could knit myself, but general consensus seemed to be that they'd go out of shape really easily or something like that. _________________ Shadow

The part that has me hesitating is the graft. I can.not.do.it. The last soaker I knit had to have a skirty added because my grafting is so bad, lol.
But yea, I think they're pretty darn awesome lookin'. _________________

I'm not sure why they would pull out of shape quicker than knit the other direction. Especially made with wool.
Sheri - how are you grafting?
I use a tapestry needle and hold the two needles with stitches needing grafting in my left hand, wrong sides together.
Take the tapestry needle & go into the first stitch on the front needle knitwise, let it slide off the needle.
Then go into the second stitch on the front needle purlwise, keep this stitch on the needle.
Now go purlwise into the first stitch on the back needle & let it slide off the needle.
Finally, go into the second stitch on the back needle knitwise & keep it on the needle.
Repeat till all the stitches are worked.
It takes a few tries to get it neat, but washing and blocking really help even it up. _________________ Melinda

Those are great pictures of the method Shadow.
I could see where the sideways pants would have different stretch on them, but I don't think it would really effect the wear too much. _________________ Melinda
