DH has been at a conference for 3 days in Chicago. I miss him so much.
Since he has been gone the dryer has stopped working and katie has been throwing up everywhere. SIGHHHHHHH!
I have seasonal affective disorder and its been raining since he let too.
I want him home now. _________________ Tanya

I don't know how they do it either. I'm upset about 2 weeks of night shift. I don't know how they do a year of not seeing their SOs at all. _________________ Jessy, Happily Married SAHM to Kaylee (Oct 06,) Alyssa (June 08) and Bubby (Dec 09,) and Tommy (Sept 11)

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I've never been a military wife, but I WAS a Navy brat. My dad was gone during the days when it was only letter contact and those usually took 2 weeks to get to you if you were lucky (he was in the Antarctic for 6 months of every year and in Sicily for 2 years).
My mom said it was hard, but you just get into a routine and you do it. I think a lot of it is mindset. And in some ways, that's harder when it's intermittent instead of one long stretch, but at least it's not for as long.
I'm not sure I could have done as well as my mom, but when DH was with his old job and gone for 2 months at a time, I did a lot better than I expected. Having SAD doesn't help, and I DO understand that. At the time, I was in Wyoming and it didn't stay dark for long (though it was cold) so that helped.

I feel your pain. I had mom here for the first the 5 weeks before Rick left. The day after she left, we all were throwing up and none of us could move out of the bed. We had no food in the house, no meds, and we were running out of diapers fast. I don't think anything else that happens this deployment can top that. Throwing up should be banned from households with only one adult in them.
Like Sarah says, you get used to it. We are about to hit our 100 day mark here (and not long after that, the halfway point) and it's a lot easier. I've stopped thinking about him leaving and am able to think about him coming home. When he first left, I cried any time I sat down and had a moment to myself. I still have my days now but not too often. _________________ Ashley Mama to Evan and Kellen and Wife to Rick
