Tara's post got me thinking...
How many mamas are there using prefolds?
How many using flats?
And why?
We are in the process of converting to flats because I'm sick of stripping diapers. Also, no wing droop etc.
Edited to add...
Or if you use prefolds/flats in combination with other types ... which do you prefer? _________________ Sweetie to awesome DH and wrangler of the dynamic duo , , and the dynamic duo 2.0 (twin sisters)

i chose "a few pfs/flats for rashy times..." but really i use my pfs when i'm in the mood for a cute pf booty. i'm not addicted to one style over another, though i do LOVE wool so we don't use a lot of AIOs/2s around here. i recently learned how to fold a mean angelwing and i'm much more drawn to my pfs now!

i have a bunch of prefolds because i love them, but i also have lots of fitteds, pockets, and aios..........i can never tell what i am in the mood for so i like to have a little of everything on hand...........yes we use mostly prefolds and fitteds at home, but i like having the aios and pockets for when we go out..........i don't see pf's as simplifying my stash lol, more as adding another dimension............plus there are lots of cute prefolds out there :P _________________ -Jenn , wahm to Machi , Cady , Nora and Liam , Gucci , and wife to John

I am having a hard time voting. I use fitteds one day and pfs the next. I don't have enough of one or the other to do it any other way. I think it gives the children the air they need too. _________________ Hello from the funny farm.

Oh, I could never simplify. I go back and forth, although we're using mostly fitteds and wool now that it's cold out. I love variety though, and I believe that diaper changes should be as fun as possible. If that means I have a million different types of diapers in my stash, so be it! _________________ I was abandoned by wolves as a child and raised by my father. |

I voted for a few pfs/flats, but it's not for those reasons. They're usually when it's warm enough for her to crawl around the house in nothing but a diaper, or just because I feel like it. _________________ ~*~ Moon ~*~

I love prefolds in a major way. They're simple - easy to clean - easy to arrange on the shelf. In a word, classic.
That said, I'm dealing with a squirmy worm of a boy, so I use AIOs and fitteds these days because there's less folding and arranging involved...
I can hardly wait until he outgrows this squirmy phase so I can use my prefolds again... And if you have a babe who continued to be squirmy until pottying, I don't want to hear it. Let me hope. |

WE use a combo. When she was first born, all we used was prefolds. Daddy got hooked on them.
So now, we have about two dozen prefolds, and 12 or so fitteds. I like the fitteds better. Haven't really had a problem with having to strip them...
SHe's almost into toddler pf's and i don't think i'll buy any. Way too squirmy now. So we'll be transitioning to purely fitteds/pockets _________________ Mommy to Grace, 11.30.05 & Ayla, 3.22.08

18 months and he's much better about squirming now.
