About Us and Our Products
About
Us:
I am Whitney,
the owner of Naturally Luxe. I live in the Foothills of the Sierra
Nevada Mountains in Northern California with my family (including three beautiful children, Maia, Chloe and Noah). We practice natural
family living, attachment parenting and are active participants at our
children's school. In addition to Naturally
Luxe, I help my ex-husband run our construction-based and natural stone
importing businesses.
Originally I
started a bath and body business called Monkey Sudz with my former
business partner in late 2004, and when she left the business at the
start of 2006, I decided to change the name and goals of the business.
And that is how Naturally Luxe was born. My three kids all have super
sensitive skin, and two of them are allergic to dyes in products. I was
horrified to read what the ingredients were in mainstream bath
products, as well as those intended for babies and children. My goal is
to provide natural and organic bath and body products for your entire
family, as well as a full line of natural baby care products and a wool
care line. In addition to our store offerings, I also have some special
items at Necessitae
where we stock on the 15th and 30th of every month.
About
Our Products:
I make all my
bar soaps with organic oils and butters wherever possible, and use the
cold process soap making method. Our soaps cure for at least a month
before we test them personally to make sure they are ready for sale to
the public. Our liquid soaps are very gentle as well, and are made with
natural ingredients that we carefully source to make sure we can offer
the quality products that have helped us earn our fine reputation.
Our wool care
line is made from organic oils, butters and lanolin that comes from a
textile processor that is certified by IMO in Switzerland for natural
and organic textile processing (except for the liquid lanolin - that is
ultra purified pharmaceutical grade). I do not make our wool wash by
taking a melt and pour or rebatch base and then add lanolin to it. Our
wool wash bars are made using the cold process technique in combination
with oven process of soap making with lanolin added from the beginning.
Our wool wash bars are made with a base lanolin content of 30% and our
liquid wool wash is made with a base lanolin content of 50%.
I rotate
through an enormous list of fragrance and essential oils, although most
of our products are available without any added scent. The only
exceptions are some of our products that have certain essential oils as
vital ingredients for their healing or aroma therapeutic properties.
Everything is available without artificial fragrance added if you so
wish.
