Fragrance Descriptions

These are only brief descriptions of some of the fragrance oils and essential oils that we offer on a regular basis. Please remember that trying to describe a fragrance is tricky because scent is so subjective. We do not offer returns or refunds on a product because you do not like the scent. If you would like to be sure that you will like a particular scent, we would be happy to send you a scent sample (a "sniffy"). If you are interested, please send us an email through our contact page with a list of up to 10 scents that you would like to try (and your mailing address), and we will do our best to get them in the mail to you within a week.

While we list many different fragrance oils here, they may not all be available all of the time.  We regularly rotate through our heavy list.  Check my listings at Necessitae because I sometimes list *custom* slots where you can pick from my entire inventory of fragrance and essential oils (even those not listed in my main store).

• Aloha Tiare (CSP type): A simple, easy-to-like tropical blend of tiare flower, vanilla, coconut, ylang-ylang, and a touch of white musk.  This is a very subtle fragrance, not strong at all.  It does not come through very well in our wool care products (possibly because of the lanolin content).
• Baby Bee (Burt's type): Soft and creamy. The scents of honey and buttermilk, will remind you of the sweetness of a freshly bathed baby.
• Baby Grace (Philosophy type): With the clean, sweet scent of innocence. Powdery, feminine and soft with notes of poppy, green accord, pink mimosa, pepper, creamy white woods, and musk.
• Bay Rum (m): Strong and clean, a great man scent, clean and strong with no spice notes.
• Belgian Chocolate: The most elegant of chocolates, it's rich, dark and completely to-die-for! More robust than semi-sweet, this ethereal scent has a true dark chocolate heart enriched by cream, not milk.
• Birthday Cake: The perfect blend of moist white cake and hurt-your-teeth sweet butter cream vanilla frosting!  If you close your eyes and concentrate, you can almost smell the little candy sprinkles.
• Black Currant Rose: An amazing blend of black currant, black currant leaf, and Bulgarian rose -- the result is a startlingly fresh and complex accord that strikes the nose as alternately green, spicy, floral, and fruity.
• Black Raspberry & Vanilla (B&BW type): Inspired by sun-sweetened, delicious dark berries warmed by Vanilla.
• Brown Sugar & Fig (B&BW type): This sensual amber-floriental blend begins with top notes of fresh fig, passion fruit, and peach, leading to a floral middles of orchid, freesia, and muguet, atop a rich bottom of vanilla bean and fig leaves drizzled with maple sugar and coconut milk.
• Celtic Moonspice: A wonderfully fragrant blend of warm spices, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
• Chai Tea: A complex blend of spices with a touch of vanilla is the epitome of what Chai Tea is.
• Cherry Almond Vanilla: Plump juicy maraschino cherries infused with bitter almonds that morphs into the most delicious sweet heart of buttery vanilla creme and glace cherries.
• Cherry Blossom (B&BW type): A heart of delicate cherry blossom bouquet & whispers of sheer freesia & paradisone.
• Cherry Garcia: As strong and intense as it's namesake, not a shy scent at all. This is a juicy, delicious scent, not overly sweet; kids and adults will love it.
• Clean For Men (Dlish type) (m): Based on the Dlish fragrance, this outstanding scent for men smells clean... but in a delicious soapy-fruity way.
• Coconut Lime Verbena (B&BW type): A citrus bouquet with its soft floral undertone on a background of musk and sandalwood is quickly becoming a favorite.
• Cool Water (Davidoff type) (m): The perfect men's fragrance, this crisp scent is surprisingly also adored by women. It's like navigating a kayak through icy waters - brisk and fresh but casual enough not to overwhelm the senses.
• Cotton Candy: Cotton Candy is more than just pink fluff; it has vanilla notes mixed with hints of cherry.
• Creamsicle: Warm vanilla blended with sparking fresh orange. A summer classic that smells fabulous all year round.
• Cucumber Melon (type): A fruity honeydew melon and green cucumber blend with tart apples and watery fresh greens. The heart blends jasmine, lavender, and sweet lilac blossoms accented with bergamot and violet. The dry is a soft woody musk.
• Egyptian Spice: A classic spice fragrance blend, with exotic notes of myrrh and frankincense, this fragrance is warm, sexy and very compelling.
• Endless Summer: A lovely lighthearted fragrance with orange and floral notes, this scent is the quintessential scent of summer vacation. Fresh air, sun, salt water and the sweet scent of suntan oil, and you're there on The Beach.
• Falling in Love (Philosophy type): An intricate blend of sweet vanilla top notes, with a floral heart and a blackberry musk base with a touch of amber.
• Floralissima: A white floral amalgam of vibrant sweet smelling gardenias; intoxicating confederate jasmine, dew kissed tuberoses and exotic Caribbean wild frangipani in a bold velvety background of creamy notes.
• Got Milk?: This sophisticated milky fragrance is a wonderful combination of sweet and creamy fresh milk notes, wrapped in fluffy clouds of delicate powdery notes with a warm soft background of pristine florals and sweet buttery musks.
• Grapefruit Ginger: This blend begins with sparkling green notes coupled with tart pink grapefruit, leading to a middle of ginger, rose, plum, lily, and lavender. The unusual bottom complex of white musk and fruitwood rounds the fragrance out beautifully and has amazing staying power.
• Grapefruit Mint Cuttings: A nice clean, green, critrus scent. Grapefruit, Yuzu, Red Ginger and Lemon blend with light grapefruit mint, cucumber and lettuce.
• Grass Stain: It's crisp, sweet (like clover) and green, and you'll love it. This scent is fresh, clean and vibrant. It's a single note fragrance smelling of ... fresh cut grass!
• Green Irish Tweed (Creed type) (m): This sporty and masculine scent has a spicy-sweet blend of French verbena and lemon, with a green center of Florentine iris and violet leaves, and base notes of Mysore sandalwood and ambergris. A personal favorite of the men in our family.
• Green Tea: A strong and amazingly true green tea fragrance.
• Honey Almond: This is a wonderful combination of sweet, golden honey, mixed with the very popular almond scent.
• Hugo Boss (type) (m): A refreshing, spicy fragrance for men. Casual and sporty with essences of fresh citrus, apples and pine, blended with notes of clove, rum and sandalwood.
• I Love Love™: (Moschino® type) A fizzy citrus accord bursting with grapefruit and lemons, with a bit of orange, tempered with greens in the heart and exotic woods in the base.
• Juniper Breeze (B&BW type) (m): Similar to the B&BW men's line scent. A cool, refreshing, clean blend of juniper greens and berries.
• Karma (Lush type): This "nearly natural" duplication of Lush's fabulous signature fragrance smells deeply sensuous and alluring. It contains just 1% synthetic to mimic Ambergris (a musky note extracted from sperm whale intestines). This blend is comprised of: patchouli oil, orange oil, lavendin oil, Pine oil, lemon grass oil, elemi oil, and gardenia extract.
• Kiss Me All Over: A drive-him-nuts blend of vanilla, orange, pineapple and cherry.
• Kudzu Blossom: An uplifting light fruity combination of fresh ripe strawberries and grapes with floral undertones of jasmine and rose petals.
• Lemongrass and Sage: A citrus blend with hints of "green" notes on a background of fresh "ozone" and a drydown of flowers & musk.
• Malabar Peppercorn™: This is a pungent, exotic blend with notes of Black Pepper, Elemi, Nutmeg, Ginger, Juniper Berries, Clary Sage, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Cypress and Musk.
• Mango Lassi: Notes of mango fruit and sweet cream awakened with hint of citrus and just a touch of spice.  Just like a mango milkshake, delicious!
  
• Mediterranean Sea Salt: Salty, ozonic and aquatic notes combine with a very soft muguet floral undertone to take you on a magical voyage along the Mediterranean’s enchanting coast and its sparkling blue waters. Unlike other sea fragrances this one has no strong perfumey or overly floral notes, just pure calming "neutral" marine freshness.
• Midnight Pomegranate: An exotic pomegranate type, with a juicy, red pomegranate and mulburry-like top-note, a subtle spicy clove, ginger and cinnamon middle-note, and a warm, precious wood and cedar base-note finish.  Even though it may sound spicy and brash, it really is a nice subtle scent.
• Monkey Farts: A blend of fresh bananas, kiwi, strawberries, pineapple, bubble gum and undertones of vanilla. Yes, a lush, yummy smell despite the name and you won't be disappointed!
• Nag Champa: An oriental bouquet of musk and patchouli with the sweetness of sandalwood and rose on an orange blossom background.
• Neroli Blossom: A warm delicate, fresh floral fragrance of a newly blossoming orchard in spring time.
• Oatmeal Milk & Honey: A good strong scent with lots of sweet honey overtones, tempered by a creamy heart of milk and grain. This scent is very warm and comforting, everything an OMH should be. Not too much almond, but very wholesome and delicious.
• Oceania: A fresh, pleasant, unisex sea scent, for those ocean-scent-seekers wanting something neither too brisk nor too floral.
• Patchouli Raspberry: Deep, Earthy and Musk notes of Patchouli, blended with Sweet Ripe Raspberries.
• Pink Sugar (Aquolina type): It smells of Cotton Candy, Vanilla and Caramel. But it's also lightened with a fresh Bergamot and an orange-y citrus top note, with touches of Berries, Muguet, Strawberry, Plum, and a dry-down of Dry Fig Leaves, Musk, Anise, Musk and Woods.
• Pixie Dust: Pixie Dust is a fresh, clean scent with hints of aloe, greens and a subtle citrus twist. Smells like Spring!
• Rise and Shine: This scent is all about happiness and light. It contains a lot of fresh orange notes, with additional notes of apple, grapefruit, peach and strawberry with just a touch of loganberry.
• Rosemary Mint (Aveda type): Rosemary is always a joy and it doesn't fail us in this perfect union of mint and rosemary. This minty herbal scent is highly aromatic. Always invigorating, the mint holds its own with the fullness of the rosemary.
• Sakura Hana: This is very similar to B&BW's Japanese Cherry Blossom™.  The smell of the earth, warmed by sunshine and woodsy freshness provide a foundation warmed by the comfort notes of musks, incense and sweet vanilla. Base notes include Vanilla Rice, Imperial Amber, Silk Musk, Violet, Cinnamon Incense, Himalayan Cedarwood and Creamy Sandalwood.
• Sandalwood Vanilla: The perfect blend of down-to-earth woody sandalwood and musk sweetened with just the right balance of vanilla.
• Sapmoss (Aveda type): A very unusual and earthy blend, with top notes of natural petigrain and galbanum, leading to a floral-herbal middle of yellow rose, cyclamen, and green notes. Much of this fragrance's character comes from strong bottom notes of natural olibanum, patchouli, sandalwood, and Virginia cedarwood oil, along with rich musk and Madagascar vanilla. Very earthy and natural smelling
• S'mores: Warm milk chocolate with melted marshmallow, sandwiched between the familiar scent of graham crackers makes this a kids' favorite.
• Soapy Clean: It's a clean, unisex scent that smells just like fresh laundry or very close to the ultra-pricey 'Clean' fragrance.
• Spiced Pear : A heavenly harmony of fresh sparkling pear combined with the warmth of oranges, nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.
• Spiced Plum: A juicy, spicy, amazingly long lasting, and an "oh so yummy" scent. The quintessential year round fragrance.
• Summer Fling: Smelling strongly of raspberries and peaches, this blend is toned down by the white notes of magnolias, lilies and cyclamen. Not one to let a fragrance fall flat in the bottom notes, it also has white musk as a supporting dry down.
• Tahiti Sweetie (B&BW type): A refreshing tropical confection begins with top notes of mango and papaya atop a floral middle of jasmine and tiare flower, with just a dash of green geranium to keep the whole blend from becoming too sweet.
• Tiny Bubbles: A fruit filled fantasy of banana, grapefruit, melons and tropical aromas.
• Vanilla Cream: A heavenly scent of a cream-laden vanilla with no harsh or too-sweet edges.
• Vera Wang: A feminine and sensual scent comprised of Bulgarian rose, calla lily, and mandarin flower as well as gardenia, lotus, iris and white stephanotis, finally finishing with sheer musks, white woods and floral nectar.
• Vetiver (m): Top notes of lime and lemon, followed by tree moss, musk and marine nuances. Hints of sandalwood and muguet round out this great earthy, masculine scent.
• Watermelon: This scent smells like that yummy hard candy that all the kids suck on. It's a very juicy, leap-out-at-you sensation.
• White Tea: Fresh citrus top notes of lemon, lime and grapefruit and orange with warm nuances of exotic jasmine.
• White Witch: A special blend of essential oils and fragrance oils including patchouli, frankincense, myrrh, sandalwood, vanilla, musk, a tiny bit of rose and more.
• Wild Honeysuckle & Green Fig: Green top notes of blended jasmine and honeysuckle, highlighted with lingering notes of ylang, hyacinth and fig; then grounded in a woody and musk background.
• Woodlands (B&BW type) (m): Woody top notes are accented with basil, armoise, lemon and juniper. A floral-herbaceous middle leads to a mellow dry down of sandalwood and patchouli. One of our best sellers, and a personal favorite.
• Yuzu: Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit, similar to a hybrid of grapefruit and mandarin. This has other clean perfume notes, and a grapefruit blossom top note that's positively haunting.
