Washing Instructions

♥Fitteds, All In One, Pockets and Covers (non-wool)

♥When you receive your diaper(s) wash once on hot (directions below) and dry on hot to seal any holes left by the needle stitches (AIO's, Pockets, AI2's). Wash all fitteds at least once to remove any sizing left on the flannel and to prepare hemp for use. Please note hemp can take up to 6 washes before it becomes completely absorbent because it contains natural oils.

♥For normal washing I recommend Charlie''s detergent but any detergent will due just use 1/4 of the regular amount you use to wash everyday clothing (unless using Charlie's soap, use the scoop provided). I like Charlie's because it's biodegradable, organic and non-petroleum based which means I do not get any kind of build up that often leads to diapers hanging into smells. It's actually cheaper than buying detergent from the store!

♥Wash on a long hot wash with a warm to hot rinse. Some say to wash on a cool wash so that stains are not set in by the hot water. I remove all solid waste as soon as I take the diaper off and use microfleece inside all of my diapers so staining isn't a problem for me. However, I like to know my diapers are sanitized so I choose a hot wash over stains.

♥There are myths that state your PUL diapers will last longer if line dried. PUL is meant to be dried on hot. In effect, when you dry your PUL it regenerates it. If you have a dearly loved diaper that seems to be wicking, try sticking it in the dryer on a hot dry and see if that fixes the problem.

♥I personally choose to line dry my diapers when possible as a personal preference but there is nothing wrong with using your dryer for PUL items.

♥♥WOOLEN ITEMS♥♥

Always hand wash with a mild soap. Occasionally your woolen item will need to be re-lanolized if you notice that it is not as waterproof as it once was. Dilute a small amount of liquid or "paste" lanolin into warm wash water and let sit for approx. 15 minutes. Gently ring dry in a clean dry towel and lay flat to dry.
