Hey There! Welcome to our little shop :) I am Elysia from Bug n Bear :knits and yarn:

I am lucky enough to be a sahm to my two beautiful kiddos Roman (7) and Ava (2) and almost wife to Steve. I first delved into the cloth diapering world thanks to the guidance of Julia (yes the lady below) and just got deeper and deeper into this natural and artistic world.

Julia

 

Hi, I'm Julia, WAHM behind Shy Violet and stay at home mom to my two beautiful kids

Aliya and Nathan. My adventure into the WAHM world began when I started cloth

diapering Aliya at 3 months old. A month later I got my first sewing machine and

started out sewing cloth diapers, wetbags, clothes and whatever inspired me at the

moment.

I opened my own HC shop Shy Violet in April of 2008. That same spring I became

interested in wool longies and fell in love. I quickly decided, like many things, I could do

this myself. I bought my first pattern and some cheap practice wool and dove right in.

I then found out I was pregnant with Nathan which sent me into a flurry of knitting

tiny newborn longies. Along with this knitting joy came a new obsession: hyena yarn.

Before Nathan was born I delved into dyeing my own yarn and this is where my

creative artistic side really felt at home.

I've been knitting for over 3 years now and dyeing for more than 2 years. I am a proud

member of A La Mode congo, Bitty Fluff congo, Their Own Knitted World congo and

Little Knit Shoppe here on HC. I love to create beautiful knitted baby items and

gorgeous hand dyed yarn both for myself and all the other wonderful mama's I've had

the joy of working with.

Hi, I'm Marilyn. I live in Airdrie, Alberta and I am a SAHM to two wonderful little boys, Colten (5 yrs) and Chase (2.5 yrs) . I started cloth diapering when Chase was born and instantly fell in love with the cuteness of wool covers. My addiction to buying cute woolies was getting a bit expensive, so I taught myself to knit when Chase was very small. I picked it up quickly and have not stopped knitting since! I enjoy knitting immensely, and look forward to the opportunity to knit for your little ones :o)

 

Currently I am licensed to knit the following patterns:

 

Belle Romper, Hootie Who, Jack Sweater, Jungle Gym, Molly Bubble Romper, Ian Polo Romper, and the Norway Romper.

I’m Pam. I live on my husbands family farm near Calgary, Alberta. I am a SAHM mom to my daughters Emma (2)  and Lily (born this June). I started my cloth diapering adventure when my daughter was born 2 years ago. I quickly began to love wool covers and learned how to knit when she was a few months old. I enjoyed trying out new patterns, shopping for new wool types and colorways, and creating wool items for her.  This quickly progressed to knitting for others, which I really enjoy. I love seeing the yarn turn into gorgeous knit items.  I look forward to making special wool items for you and your little ones!

 

I am licensed to knit many popular patterns including Eviepants, Twisty Trousers, Molly Bubble Romper, Ian Polo Romper, the Elizabeth Tunic, the Hootie Who Romper, Foggy Mountain Coveralls, Jungle Gym Overalls/Skirtalls, Sweetheart Dress, Something Beautiful Shrug and the Springtime in Hollis Sweater.  Please check out my gallery. How do we all know each other?

All 4 of us live in or around Calgary Alberta Canada. Julia and Elysia have been friends for several years and Julia introduced Elysia to Cloth diapering and Diaper Swappers. We met Pam and Marilyn on the Knitters WIP chat on DS. We’ve been meeting up for play dates and knit nights for the past year. We’ve quickly become friends, we’re all the same age, we have kids the same ages and we all share a love of knitting and a yarn addiction ;) We are all so excited to be able to open this store together and work together.
