I am a stay at home, homeschooling mommy of 5 children.  I knit, dye yarn and answer emails as often as time allows. Please be patient with me :)

 

All knits come from a Smoke Free,  kitty-that-doesn't-play-wth-yarn home. :)

 

Hand dyed yarn can have some variation.  Please keep in mind when purchasing.  If needing more than one skein for your project, please purchase them at the same time to ensure more consistency in the coloring. 

 

I will strive to knit your item as flawlessly as possible.  Please understand that there is always a possibility that there may be an asthetic flaw, while not affecting the function of the knitted item. I work hard to minimize "pooling" of colors in the item when knitting with hand painted yarn, but sometimes, no matter how hard I try, it will stack or pool like colors together. Know that I *WILL* do my best to avoid this. Keep in mind that these are handknits, not machine knits.

 

If you are dissatisfied with your item, PLEASE contact me as soon as possible.  I will work with you to come up with a solution that we are both comfortable with. It is your responsibility to provide me with accurate measurements before I begin knitting.  I strive to form a amicable working, and personal, relationship with each one of my customers!

 

That being said, I do not offer refunds on custom items, since they are knitted according to your child's specific measurements. Nor am I responsible for sizing issues due to innacuracey on your providing the correct measurements.

 

 

InStocks

Items purchased instock must be paid for via PayPal within 3 hours.  Inability to do so will cause me to relist the item.

 

Semi-Customs

Items knit using my yarn (MYMN), will require a non-refunable deposit via PayPal that will be put toward your final balance. I will require final payment before I begin knitting your item. I will contact you a couple days before your slot comes up.  If I do not hear from you within 2 days, you will be moved to the back of the customs line.  If I do not hear from you within a week, your slot is forfeited and I keep your deposit.

 

YYMN Customs

Items knit using your yarn (YYMN), will also require a non-refunable deposit via PayPal that will be put toward your final balance. Your yarn will act as partial deposit. I will require final payment before I begin knitting your item. I will contact you a couple days before your slot comes up.  If I do not hear from you within 2 days, you will be moved to the back of the customs line.  If I do not hear from you within a week, your slot is forfeited and I keep your deposit and your yarn.

 

I ship USPS with Delivery Confirmation.  You are welcome to choose First Class or Priority.  Let me know which you prefer and I will calculate shipping prior to your sending the final balance.

Insurance is not required, but it is definately recommended.  Once an item is shipped, I am not responsible for it.

 

Most of our products are knit with 100% wool.  Sometime we use Superwash, bamboo, silk, or other natural fibers.  Due to the nature of handknits, I prefer hand washing only.  Even on items that are knit with non-wool or other natural fibers, I recommend hand washing.  Better safe than sorry.

To wash: Fill a sink or bowl with lukewarm water.  Add a wool wash or gentle soap like baby wash.  To lanolize, add lanolin (Lansinoh cream works well and you only need to add about 1/4" to your wash- you could melt in the microwave beforehand) or use a wool wash with lanolin in it.

Press the item into the bath to let all the air bubbles out.  Let sit for at least 30 mins.  The longer, the better.  Take care not to rub, twist or wring the item or it could felt. When it is time to get it out, lift it out and GENTLY press or squeeze out the water. Lay it flat on a towel and roll the item up in the towel to get out the remaining water.  Dry flat, inside or outside, but not in direct sun.
