About my soakers/shorties/longies.

I wanted to tell you a little about my soakers/shorties/longies. First off all of my items are hand crocheted by me.

The patterns used are my own. I started off with a free pattern for a soaker that I found online but I have changed it so much that my current patterns are absolutely nothing like the original.

All of my soakers, etc. have covered elastic waistbands. Some of the first soakers I made for my dd had drawstrings and I didn't like them. They always came untied and I could never get them tied tight enough to keep them from sliding down but not so tight that they wouldn't leave a red mark. With the elastic they stretch as your baby moves with no pinching. As I said the elastic is covered so it will never touch your baby. On the ones that have a trim color at the top, it is just for looks. The whole thing is not the waist band.
